I've been saving for a 3D printer for a while. I've taken many classes in blue print and art, and have always drawn neat contraptions, but always been poor (family life) or unable to build anything. Soon enough all the toys dreamed up as a kid will be made for my kids to play with and tell me they suck - I know back in the 80's they would've been great and that is what counts!

Good job guys! I've almost finished 3d printing your boat design with some modification (67% scale, smaller motors) and I can't wait to make it run! Your video quality is always so good! Congratulation!
That was the best advertisement I've watched in my life. The "do you go to questionable websites" made me laugh out loud on the metro 😂😂 good work man.
Who all come just to see the dope montages Peter and whoever else behind them put together... Montage KING! Big props on pun intended to all that help into making your videos. Mad Respect Bro keep it up!
Been out of rc boats for a while, but I had lots of different ones from twin hull race boats to sail boats. It was cool to see how you guys made these from scratch.
Imagine how fast it could really go with the right type of props. Some actual surface props. That would be cool to see the difference in speed
That red one quite a fast boat. Even faster if runs 4s. And good looking too.
Make this a kit for people too make. I'd buy one! I'm sure others would enjoy making and playing with this toy.
Holy cavitation. Those propellers are going to be your biggest area of improvement.

Hi Peter, With injection moulding you need to machine a steel die which is predictably extremely expensive. It's only really economical if you intend to produce tens or hundreds of thousands of units. It costs tens of thousands of dollars per die. You might want to look at vacuform (vacuum form) moulding which I believe is how most rc shells are created. You might be able to find a strong, flexible resin in which case a rtv silicone mould could also be an option, but for creating rc boat hulls I think the vacumform is your best bet, unless you have the money to burn for a steel die. Obviously researching what other people have done in the hobby would be prudent. Especially as this a little outside my area of expertise.
I love your montages❤️❤️
So when are you guys making a full scale boat?
5:40 now thats an epic t-shirt!
I have tried to do a boat myself but it wasn't that successful! I really liked how the boat was jumping on a water at 2:00 its mad! I have to say I am glad that you find your sponsor! Nordvpn is a strong and respectful product indeed! I use it myself!
Man I've never been this early for a Peter sripol video.
The answer for long print time is making it smaller, as the square-cube law means at half size, it actually has 4 times less surface area and 8 times less volume/mass (obviously not linear as 3D printing uses shells and infill, but it's close). You could try testing what sized motor/prop combo would be the best for a 75% or 50% scaled boat, for example.
I am gonna try to put one of these boats together but with a proper shaft, prop and rudder. I am gonna try to use a traxxas 12t Titan motor and ESC with 7.2v 3000mAh NiMH packs to power it. I upgraded a truck to brushless and have a whole electronics and hardware system for a boat extra. I was gonna try to make a boat from scratch using foam board or thin plywood but this looks like the way to go. Thanks for posting the .stl files!!!
You guys should build a boat that can retrieve any other rc boat! This way, when you go to a lake and your boat gets stuck you can go get it. Plus, I'd like to see what crazy mechanisms you can come up with to grab and hold onto boats!
I am so glad I have discovered this channel it is so awesome and entertaining and good luck to your brother
Peter please make more videos weekly 🥇
Awesome project, I might give it a go. Was also super cool to meet you at World Maker Faire!
Great meeting you at the makerfaire last weekend.
it's cool to see your favorite youtuber at your favorite beach Waimea Bay 3:58 play the interstellar docking music
I laughed so hard at 6:12.. idek why 😂
Once again, you build something in 2 days that would take other people (me included) 2 weeks! PS: could you tell me the material your 3D printer uses? I was thinking of trying to build my own little boat. :)
A racing hydroplane boat would be cool with this power setup
more videos with *your* plane I love it!
Sick montoge at the end
Personally running rc powerboats i think the idea is awesome much easier than running props and driveshafts haha especially to have fun would love to see more boat content and maybe try some actual boat props ;) id be very interested to see the results
That was so cool I might have to print one out
i thought your video was great but then i saw the VPN ad. and I liked it even more. thumbs up Peter :)
Home made injection moulding of that boat would be awesome to see!!!! Go for it! People throw away loads of HDPE everyday so it could be a good environment project!!
what are you using to coat the boat before you paint to fill in the gaps the print left?
Man, people have talent
I'm looking at printing this with an Ender 3, what scale should it be printed at? If I go with the 100 percent it's gna take days to print, is this correct? Cheers
Excellent video, when are you updating the boat hull files and uploading the build video?
Nice rooster tails
*Amazing* 😍😍

You must be at Waimea Bay. I recognize the church in the background. That was my favorite beach when I was stationed there.

Awesome build! I'd definitely pick one up if you sold them on the site. Would be a fun project.
Love the concept, been working on rc boats for a while. No luck with electric ($$) so have started making a weed-whacker one instead. I would love to see you guys produce these, would definitely buy. However, I still concerned about running these in salt water and without a traditional stuffing tube.
so you didnt seal the brushless rc motors at all? does this work for the hobbypower a2212 out of curiosity? thanks
You should try to make an RC submarine

@modelnutty6503

there ya go, Peter, scratch build a 12x24 vaccuform table. steal heating coils from a bunch of hair dryers or cheap electric heaters, shopvac to pull. go smaller (about 7x12) for using 2 liter bottle plastic could be good for instant tiny whoov frames, micro boats, 1/16 or smaller car bodies etc.
Try putting long shafts on the motors. Getting the propeller longer back/down will make more water hit the propeller once the boat "flies" across the water.
Sweet. Did you try the outboard outrunner motors with the regular brass screws? How about building an electric jet boat next? Thank you for sharing.
Dude love your video's, next you should design and 3d print a hydrofoil speedboat!!
What esc did you use for the twin motor setup peter?
What size battery did he use or what battery would you use to power it??
those motors are impressive tbh
I don't mind the VPN ad. You have bills to pay. This is free content for me. Thanks.
New video man keep it up👍🏼👌🏼
Both boats will run hilariously with waterjet drive. Waiting for the jet boat of your design
Hit that YEET
Awesome project
Designing a boat like a boattail bullet. Maybe even more boatty-tailed. Go crazy. Do eeet.
Peter should do a Model rocket or something along those lines
I tried doing something similar with an old Traxxas velineon system from a rustler vxl, and it consistently ripped every piece into shreds.

Nice boat. I have printed it and had its maiden today. Had a job turning it whilst going slow. Being new to boats, can you tell me what the aluminium part is for screwed to the back.
What glue are you using to put the parts together? I’m new to 3D printing and would like to print and build bigger stuff.
Dude, I would love to get one of those boats. I’ve been wanting an rc boat for a while but haven’t jumped on it yet cause most of them flip easy.
It's ain't Peter without a montage
Hi Peter and Sam, do you have a tutorial on how to post process the hull? I printed and build one, but it seems to do the same your boat was doing Peter. It dips the nose down on higher throttle. Also it will turn itself at higher throttle. Tried different props but I'm going to try some more. I didn't have any two bladed ones anymore. It might be the hull has to much drag maybe? Any help is appreciated :)
Hi peter cant find files on thingyverse as I am into rc boats i would like to print this out and try that motor configuration thanks
