Any cost to a business gets passed on to the consumer. It's pretty simple if the owner pays 5,000 dollars more a week for employees then prices have to go up to make the 5000 a week back. The owner is never going to eat the cost themselves.

What about Jack in the Box? When I lived in San Diego back in 2014 I remember at Jack in the box in Murphy Canyon A jumbo Jack with cheese, 2 tacos and a small soda was about $5.25

A Baconater combo at wendy's with fry and drink is now 13.50....I drove back out of the drive thru and said no thanks, it used to be 8.50 at one time

I think i just quit mcdonalds today simply because it was so expensive for the quality of the food i got

Had I lived in New York, Chicago, or Japan. I would've quit and give up fast food completely. They are probably like an average of $15 to 22+ on standard basic items. Way too expensive. But I live in North Carolina where fast food is just regular expensive.

These prices are the same as the Uber eats,door dash I'm not shocked at all

What really pisses me off is places are now charging an extra $5 (sometimes more) for small fries and a drink. A small handful of potato and grease and some fountain pop. Insane markup. The cost to the restaurant can’t be more than like 50 cents and that’s being generous. Didn’t getting fries and a drink with your sandwich used to be called a “value” meal?

And the sad true you pay more and get less and mess especially mcdonalds which it is horrible nowadays 😢

So everyone else here also believes that it’s just not worth it because they’ve hiked up the prices by double, they’ve cut portions in half and also I believe that McDonald’s used to genuinely taste better back in the day as well. They used to have food that was freshly made and crispy and yummy, almost addictive lol. Today it’s poorly made, it’s always inconsistent and to be honest the workers there have given me the wrong order so many times it’s annoying because you have to wait in line or go back in and it’s just not a good experience. PLUS McDonald’s used to be suck a fun place for children and families. They used to have fun toys and awesome play places that kids could have free fun for hours! McDonald’s really used to be a great experience for customers all around. Now they’re this boring corporate that gets everything wrong and the food is old and stale.. they’ve ruined the whole thing IMO

Nah they fucked up that mcdonalds breakfast order. Something is wrong.

Baked potato and chili at Wendy's used to be $5. I paid $10 yesterday....meanwhile, I went to Blaze Pizza today and ordered my owner personal pizza loaded with toppings for $7.35. Or I could go order a chicken bowl or something and it's maybe $10 to $12. Fastfood got expensive, it's as much or cheaper to eat at non-fast food places now.

That special at my butcher last week and 8 oz filet mignon was $12

3 hash browns and egg mcmuffin for $24??! Wtf over here in texas its $18 for that not much better..

I know sometimes things have got to go up in price but it's getting to the point where I think we need another occupy have you noticed that things are set up for the upper middle class and not for people either on fixed incomes or the working poor or even the middle class anymore I do think we need another occupy

People still think that McDonald's is the cheapest option and I tell people that I'd rather go to a fancy ass restaurant and they look at me like I'm stupid

Don't care, I go to the taco shop. The prices barely change.

When I still lived in San Diego and had not yet retired, I loved to get lunch at Five Guys on Balboa Ave. It wasn't cheap then, but it has gone up a LOT according to their website. I'd get a Little Bacon Burger, now $9.69 and a Bacon Dog, also $9.69, this would be a pretax total of $19.38!!! I now live in the Boise, ID area and just checked their prices at the Meridian, ID location. The Little Bacon Burger is $7.99 and the Bacon Dog is $5.99, for a total of $13.98 before sales tax, which is less here. The difference between the same two items is $5.40. CA makes it very expensive to do business and taxes the feces out of everything. All of you who support this excess taxation and regulation have only yourselves to blame, plus of course Inflation Joe Biden.

How about minimum wage ? A companies biggest cost is labor, increase that you have artificially created inflation Because companies will undoubtedly keep their profit margins the same lol.

@@SALAZAR619 I agree, CA has legislated even more inflation by raising the minimum wage. The side effect of this is that many unskilled people will not be hired at the higher wage, so they will just remain a burden on the taxpayers.

And also maybe look up supply and demand (basic economics) , which explains a lot of the high cost of living in california, a state with the biggest population (bigger than the smallest 22 states combined), more demand for everything = higher costs for everything. Simple.

I don't go to fast food restaurants as much as I used to. Most is really unhealthy for you.
