This device goes a long way towards redeeming EF in my eyes. I broke down and got the Wave 2 with battery and the Delta 2 with battery a year or so ago, and this DC charger makes them so much more usable. Thanks to your code and the sale, I went overboard and got a Delta 2 Max and a second Wave 2 with battery plus the DC charger, free solar panel and some other accessories. If you buy over $2k you get 12% off plus your discount on everything but the already steal of a deal on the Wave 2 with battery which is $1200 for a limited time. Given the new round of tariffs set to take effect in less than 90 days, I would grab what you can now. Thanks Hobotech!

I can't get over how quiet EcoFlow was about this release. I get it, though. They recently dropped a new "flagship" product, so they problem didn't think this would be a major blip on the radar. Oh, how wrong they were! I hate inflammatory adjectives (however, I used one), but this is nothing short of revolutionary! I wasn't planning on using this even though I saw a lot of potential with it. MUCH MORE TO THIS THAN MEETS THE EYE! Thanks, Professor. I love your videos. I wish this could handle non-Ecoflow setups. When I built my power backup for my house, I stuck to a 12 volt system so it could be recharged from my alternator. I just didn't see any 12v-->48v chargers I would trust. If you have a way to use this with other LiFePO4 batteries, I would be interested in how it's done. One of the concerns I have is with drawing 800 watts/ ~60 amps from an alternator for an extended period. I have one car with a 140 amp alternator that would be fine, but my little Honda's alternator is only 70 amps and, from what I've seen online, would probably fry fairly quickly at idle if I pulled 60 continuous amps. I know you can adjust the charge rate in the Delta, but it would have been nice to include a little info about where to set it in comparison to the alternator output. 40% - 50%?

Anyway…I was really impressed with this review…it just goes to show that although solar and wind are a great source, there will always be a need for internal combustion, and this new product as simple as it is, really fills a need for when the SHTF. Question for you: First off I love your videos. have bought several Eco flow batteries when you started making videos on them a while back. sad to see i invested so much on Eco flow Max 1600 (x3) and not the Delta Max versions. i guess i can only get 500-800 charging cycles instead of 35,000 or so which is a crazy number. My question is, couldn't I just use a standard power inverter for my car. I own an older Black and Decker 800W power inverter that has alligator style clamps for battery connections and (2) 3 pronged outlets. I would imagine not being able to charge as fast but could i use that? If there are any cheaper alternatives to this system i would love to learn about it. We would love if you could make a video on cheaper solutions to charge rapidly via car alternator/battery power. Thanks for all you do!

I have also a more powerful Rowpow Ac to dc 12v plug converter which delivers 200w to run more powerful compressors. Also, let's say my car battery goes flat at 11.2v, approx how much % of the delta 2 should I 'reserve' as emergency? is the reverse an instantaneous jump start or i will be waiting some time for the AGM car battery to have enough current to turn the starter? thank you for the technical help

I am an engineer who bought my first Prius in 2000, and currently camp in a 2017 Prius Prime. The rule of thumb accepted by most folks on PriusChat is to never try pulling over 1000W from the 12V system of a Toyota hybrid, such as with an inverter. My own additional rule is to not pull over 600W for extended periods of time, say over a half hour. Pulling 800W, this should work, but bear in mind that if you do burn up the car's own DC-DC converter which it has instead of a conventional spinning alternator, your car repair bill will be much, much higher than replacing an alternator in a 1994 Dodge. Personally, I'm sticking with my 600W additional load rule keeping it under 50A, because of how many other electrical loads these cars have, rather than stuff powered by belts and spinning stuff. I've never bothered completely figuring out which stuff is powered off 12V vs off the high voltage battery directly versus off maybe additional DC-DC converters to different voltages. The most powerful DC-DC converter I'd use in a Toyota hybrid is the Kisae DMT-1250. 50A, and can be set down to I think any other level in 5A increments. My own DC-DC is the Kisae DMT-1230. 30A, can be set down to other levels but not all of them. I paid $130, though its price often scoots up in the $250-$300 range. Currently $145 with one left. A final thing to consider, is that I always sleep with the car on for climate control, so even just using 10A through the cigarette lighter 12V port into something like the $50 Bestek 300W pure sine inverter (but using it as 120W when in the 12V port rather than hard wired), can run my fridge and do significant battery charging. So, even the Kisae DC-DC isn't very necessary, and becomes less necessary if you have 250-300W available from the little inverter. I find it OK to have multiple ways to skin the same cat. On a trip last month with 13 nights slept in the car, I never needed more than the 120W 12V port to keep a 100Ah mini LiFePO4 charged back up by morning. Then I would turn the car off, and use the 100Ah to keep a 299Wh GoLabs power station topped up all day long running a freezer in Arizona desert heat with the car off, via pass-through charging. The 1280Wh of the battery plus the (actually less than) 299Wh of the power station ran the freezer at -4F in MAX cooling mode without either battery getting drained by night time. Then I'd turn the car and climate control on, and charge the 100Ah with a 4A charger plugged into the inverter, and move the fridge plug from the power station to the inverter. All while keeping the 100Ah feeding the power station. I had brought a 50Ah to parallel with the 100Ah if needed, but it was never needed. Really not bad for not using solar, not using DC-DC, not using a hardwired inverter. Just the little inverter in the 12V socket, only while the car ran while I slept or was driving. Many days, I did not drive.

@@HOBOTECH I'm not sure how powerful it is, and I'm not sure of differences between Toyota hybrids now that so many models of their cars have hybrid versions. The consensus on Prius for 2 decades (and I owned one before that) has always been that drawing 1000W or more from the 12V is OK-ish for a little while, but probably unwise to do for hours at a time on a regular basis. So, maybe this is absolutely optimal for squeezing 12V power out of a Toyota hybrid. Or maybe it's got that one last straw that might break the camel's back eventually, with a very big repair bill if you routinely pull 800W from that, plus 120W from the 12V port powering something else, maybe some of these vehicles have a second 12V port in back that your kid plugged a 100W PD Apple device into, etc. Probably not as bad as the guy I saw with a 700W cooking power microwave plugged into an inverter, but maybe not every model now is as bulletproof as an old Gen 2 Prius from 2004-09. I've switched to using a house-battery LiFePO4 setup in my Prius Prime, just needing to pull a bit more than my average load, multiplied by 24, divided by how many hours per day I am running the car and charging the house battery.

Push the Charge Protect. ((For 12 Volt side )) That runs the Engine idle Higher so the Alt can provide it's full output. or just use the PTO control to set any RPM I want ... People need to realize not all alternators produce Much output at Idle.. My 94 Goldwing for example, the Alt does not put out anything at idle and if left idling it will drain the Battery. I put in an aftermarket Alt the will provide 45 amps at Idle and upto 90 Amps at higher Road RPM's People used to load their bikes with Gobs of Lights and Have power issues AHAHAHAH My 100 Watt Ham Rig was the biggest draw on the Bike...
