She played a seamstress in Phantom Thread! I knew I recognized her from somewhere.

My friends and I went to the traveling Dior collection when it came to town. Seeing all these garments in photos is one thing, but to see them in "person" was truly a swoon-worthy event. The fabric, the stitching, and the details ... c'est magnifique! Seeing all those iconic outfits was breathtaking. My friend, who is _not_ a "dedicated follower of fashion" was quite impressed as well, from an artistic standpoint, as they all were indeed works of art. And the couture pieces were exquisite! This fashionista was in heaven!

For a work that was an effective game changer to the fashionable silhouette for at least 15 years, I am surprised that it hasn’t received more views. Love to see her do more ‘unpicking’ of your key works 😊

Seeing this video, it gives me an idea on how I can replicate the bar suit and how I can create it in my size. With the only difference being the front closure shuts with hooks instead of the buttons originally used while the buttons will be decorative.

The very definition of the couture. Exquisitely made, deceptively simple, very modern clothes from the 18th and 19th century.

Fashion design/ clothing construction is a highly skillful art. The underlining construction to hold the weight and shape. I adore videos like this!!

The internet says... Why is it called the bar suit? Dior's Bar Jacket: A Brief History | Vogue Apparently, the Bar jacket took its name from the bar at the Plaza Athénée, which Monsieur Dior frequented.

it was honestly shocking to see the size of the waist of the skirt compared to her hands for example... the person must have been a 00 to wear that remotely comfortably. I can see that the buttons & stitching on skirt seem pulled ever so slightly, like a person was super tightly packed into the garment.
