FASD Makes Me, Me

Фильм және анимация

FASD Makes Me, Me animation has been codeveloped with input, advice, feedback and ideas from young people with FASD, their siblings and parents/carers from the FASD Hub Scotland community.
Produced by Edinburgh-based studio - HeeHaw, the animation follows Charlie, a young person with FASD. Through the animation we spend the day with Charlie, a young person with FASD. They shows us that they think differently, and how when others do so to, this enables them to be successful, succeed and shine. The animation has been voiced by Conar - a 13 year old with FASD, from Scotland.
The animation was launched on 9th September 2021, International FASD Awareness Day, as part of FASD Hub Scotland's FASD think Differently campaign #FASDthinkDifferently. The #FASDthinkDifferently campaigns key messages for the month. Those with FASD think differently and therefore those who parent and support them also need to think differently. When we all think differently individuals can achieve great things.
FASD Hub Scotland provide a tiered support service for all parents and carers of child, young people and young adults across Scotland who have a history of prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE), with or without an FASD diagnosis. The service provides a telephone helpline, online community groups (for adults with FASD and parents/carers), virtual meet ups, 1:1 Family Support for caregivers and access to enhanced therapies to support caregivers and their children. Alongside a presence across online media channels, resources through their website, and online training for parents/carers and professionals supporting and working with families and individuals.
FASD Hub Scotland is managed by Adoption UK through their Scotland based team, and funded by the Scottish Government. The funding for the animation was secured by Adoption UK through an external funder.
