Love learning the history behind that beautiful shawl . I enjoy history as a rule , combining it with fiber takes it to the next level 🤩 I am definitely putting a Faroese on my bucket list .

They are a lot of fun to make, too. Knitted all in one piece except the edging.

You are so welcome! The pattern that I made is no longer available. But the Elizabeth shawl in the book looks very similar.

Thank you. It gets a good amount of use in the summer since it is cotton. I went out and bought the book so I can make more.

This was very interesting. Thanks for sharing. My husband was stationed in Iceland we were there for two years with our baby son. I have never heard of that Island. Have a great Yarney day 🤗🧶

Isn't it fascinating all the different techniques that are used around the world. I love this shape reminds me of a bat. Is it all made in one piece (apart from the border) I love the way the arrows go in different directions. Thank you for the video found it really interesting. Hi Jane. It is all knit in one piece except the edging. It looks complicated, but it really wasn't a hard pattern. Cricket was sitting just above shawl when I laid it on the kitchen floor to take the picture. I kept her out of the photo...I was afraid she was eyeing it up to go lay down on.
Those are beautiful shawls. The next one I do I will try one of them. I hate when they fall off your shoulders
