Excellent series, although I have been playing FS19 since Xmas 2018, I have discovered a few things I was unaware of, so the series is not just for the noobie.

I know I’m a little late to the game, but I have been using the hay trailer Fliegl DPW 210, and take it to the shop to load up whatever I need. I’ll buy 2 or 3 pallets of fertilizer and a few bags of seed, it’s not the easiest getting them in due to the space between the bed portion and top of the trailer but that might just be my lack of skill with the loader

Yep that trailer will work also.

I keep coming back to your videos to figure out how to solve farming problems/tasks. To begin (New Farmer mode) I need to get a bunch of lime and fertilizer to the farm so I can easily fill the spreader. Do I use a lime buy point mod? Do I get a flatbed trailer and bring pallets to the farm? Do I bring loose lime/fertilizer in a large tipper and somehow load it into the spreader? So many decisions! I also need to stick to a tight budget.

You can for sure use all of those methods. Untimely the best budget would probably be if you had a trailer to get pallets as the placeable costs money and you have to then buy the product and loose is rarely discounted so the difficulty in getting them into the spreader is a pain likely not worth it. There are mods that allow you to do lime with an auger wagon so that can be an easy way to get bulk into the spreader but these back to basic videos do not go down the rabbit hole of mods as they are always coming out and if I talked about mods available when the video was made someone would always commenting a mod that came out afterwards that did it better or different, etc. Plus not all mods work on all platforms so these videos where trying to cover all platforms.

Thanks for the pallet guide or process i was trying to figure a way and was like they dont have any flatbeds but didnt think of the way you shown. :D

Great video! Farming simulator is a complicated game and it is nice to see How equipment is used before you use your hard earned cash on equipment that is wrong.

Sure, there all mods and in the back to basics series I do not spend much time talking about mods as there are tens of thousands of options on PC and thousand+ on console so it would just muddy every conversation and be somewhat outdated fast as I say you could use XYZ mod and then next week next month ABC mod comes out that does something similar. inevitably a comment on well you could use ABC also.

@@FarmerKlein the world map setting is in colorblind mode. Which is all cool its better for you to know what crop is on the field.

I'm trying this game out and for me this is the part that has me questioning if I want to keep playing. It's just so odd and frustrating that in order to transport pallets to my farm I need to physically load them at the store myself onto a flatbed, instead of just having them automatically go onto the bed or even to the farm. The way it is here is both tedious and immersion breaking, and just about ruining the experience for me.

You could fill the seeder or fertilizer spreader/sprayer from the ground by just pulling up beside them. Also we do not talk about it in this video as I do not want to muddy the waters by talking about the endless ways you could do something with mods but there are mod buildings you can place that are fill triggers you just pull up next to and buy seed directly into your implement.

@@FarmerKlein I knew I could just fill my tools at the store, but then I'd have to periodically bring each of them back to refill them which is just trading one annoying task for another. Besides, I'd rather just have a stock of what I need at the farm where it's easy to get to. The mod buildings sounds interesting though, I may have to look into those.

I agree. I should be able to order feed for my horses and have them appear at my stable. It's getting annoying driving back and forth with my skid steer in tow just to load and unload one at a time in my pickup.

Great video. I started using the flatbed trailer to move the big bags, but I ended up using a semi trailer hauling 59k units of each product I need to my farm and unloading onto the ground then using conveyer belt system to load seeders and spreaders. I'll never fork another big bag again. Now to get herbicide and liquid fertilizer to the farm... Any tips besides flatbed and forks or bigger sprayer capacity for fewer trips to the shop?

You could load them up in a sprayer at the shop and then unload the sprayer at the farm it will put them back in pallets. Once you dive into mods there are placeable silos you can put down on the farm to direct fill from.

I'm trying to figure out how I can haul multiple big bag oats and bring something to load them with me. No luck yet. Any ideas?

the cheap trailer in flatbed config with a tractor that has front loader arms and pallet fork. you load the bags on the flatbed, strap them down and drive them to the desitnation. The tractor loads and unloads them with the loader arms and pallet fork.

Interesting how you have to plan out all this. Especially if you plan on bringing the pallets back to the farm. The most practical solution is probably to just invest in a frontloader for the tractor. That way you can just load and unload everything yourself wherever. The forklift seems like a very situational choice. Why would you lease a forklift when you can buy a frontloader? You'd have to bring the forklift with you to the farm if you plan on unloading the pallets there. And i don't know if it's even roadworthy.

you can leave the fork lift at the shop and use something faster than a tractor like a truck to haul between store and farm. But in the end its up to you the players preference. like why get a JD if a NH will do. preference.

do you have mods installed? as I do not have dollys, chainsaws to name a few like I see @ 3:12 in your video

dollys and chainsaws are standard in game categories. The back to basics series was done near mod free.

Its not letting my tractor attach a loader thing to it, I also brought a seperate front loader but its not picking up the bigbag

Maybe you do not have the front loader arms attachment on the tractor, not all do. Maybe you did not buy a front loader tool but a telehandler, skidsteer or wheel loader tool.

i bought wheat big bags i thought for seeder it didn't work. Can I sell them?

Nope. but unless you added a seed mod the seed is universal.

thank you for this video helped me since im a beginner i was able to fit six pallets on that flat bed trailer :D but i had a problem , i had to buy the forklift because the front loader didnt work on my tractor :p do you know why ? its a Case IH 7210 pro

You'll need a front loader attacher on your tractor, to do that, you'll need to customize the tractor and add a front loader attacher to a tractor. If I remember correctly, the 7200 series doesn't have an option to add a front loader attacher :/

Still don't know how the fuck do I fill manure spreader from a BigBag! I tried driving up to the bag, no option to fill the spreader. I tried using a forklift and hold the bag over the spreader - nothing. Why is this game so fucking cryptic?!

A big bag of manure would be a mod so its hard to say. usually you put big bags over things and they fill or as you said some have a trigger you can fill from the ground but its hard to say how any given mod might work or not work. but yes one of those two methods should work to hold a big bag of manure over a manure spreader.
