This is the first step into making Rinoa the most Op character in the game. When you junction her right she will spam meteor, thanks to angel wing her magic stat will actually be beyond the 255 cap and she will just obliterate everything (omega weapon included)

yeah i like to do that too, she will become the true sorceress who deal tons of damage, just put meteor in the first list on magic arrange to increase the chance, but spamming wishing star also OP if you keep her hp very low

You Can Also Get "Pain" And "Drain" From Level 30+ Ochus(Found In Timber-Roshfall Forest And Trabia-Bika Snowfield Forests(Blue Dragons Can Also Be Found Here)) And Level 30+ Red Bats(Found In Fire Cavern And Deling City-Sewers). Drain Is GREAT On Status-ATK And It Works Against Bosses(Particularly Against Human-Bosses). Also Those "Death Claws" In That Forest? If You Missed It Off The GIM52As In The D-Prison Earlier, You Can Rarely "Win" "Missiles" Off Level 30+ Death Claws. So That Item Actually Is NOT Missable, It Was Just Classified As Such. BTW That Ruby Dragon's "Breath" Attack Is NON-ELEMENTAL PHYSICAL-BASED, And Can Do 9999 To A 99-VIT Character. You CAN Cut The Attack's Damage In "Half" So It Doesn't Kill You(If You Have HIGH HP That's A Good Alternative) With Protect, As It Is Physical-Based.

While fuzz didn't defeat the Ruby Dragons in this, if you use Quistis' Micro Missile limit break a couple times and Card the dragon (which still nets 0 exp), not only can you get 2-4 Fury Fragments (which can be refined into 5 Aura spells each), but they have a chance of dropping 2 Energy Crystals, if you waited on getting Lion Heart or want to get Save the Queen/Shooting Star early without needing to farm Elnoyle cards en masse. Also, it's important to note that Ruby Dragons don't follow the 1-19/20-29/30+ level grouping most other enemies do. Theirs is 1-34/35-44/45+, which means that you need to get them to lv45 to get Flare/Meteor, as well as the items I mentioned above at decent rates. (They show up as either lv 8 or 12 if you are doing a no exp/power-up run and the LVL UP ability doubles the level of the enemy it's used on, up to 100; LVL DOWN does the opposite, halving the enemy level, rounding the resulting level down, down to 1. As a result, both of these abilities will reset the current HP of the enemy affected.)

small tip if you want to use a third party member breath from R dragons counts as a physical attack so if you rise your VLT and have auto-protect that really rises your chances of living through it and also having the ability that lets you have first strike helps as well

You Don't Get "Auto-Protect" UNTIL MUCH LATER Though. HOWEVER, You CAN Cast "Protect" On "Each" One Of Your Characters As Well As Having A HIGH VIT(Vitality) STAT(Like 150+) And 7000+ HP Which MAY BE Sufficient To HELP SURVIVE His "Breath" Attack That's NON-ELEMENTAL. Just AVOID Being "Back Attacked"!

kill 1 of the char is the best choice, he wont cast fire breath if less than 3 char active, just put fire/fira/firaga on elem def junction to reduce the fire damage, usually he will cast fira very often

i like this series, i did buy ff8 remastered on pc after watching the first one, got me back into it. Note. I have a slight reading dyslexia and I find the TTC rule abolish sequences a little confusing, if you could do an episode or two on that topic would be super helpful, I am currently stuck with Closed, Random, Same/Plus and Direct.

If you want open rules, you can play card once in Timber

You mad lad actually made a video about it after that dude's comment lol. Everyone else, note that flare is one of the best spells for magic defences, meteor is the best for magic, and reflect which he also he is the best for spirit in an optimized build.

just a tip but if you lv up ruby dragons to 40 to get the good magic if you card them you will receive fury fragments. For me it was 2 fury fragments after i carded the dragon but if it below 40 I believe you will get inferno fangs instead which one is needed for quitis blue magic.

Just got a Ward card by playing the doctor right after the briefing about lunatic Pandora attack. There's another easy vid for ya ;)

Yeah, They Do. ANY Forest Where Fuzz Said They Can Be Found In, Though I Always Farmed Them In The 2 LARGER FORESTS Past The Chocobo's Forest Close To One Another. Update: They Aren't Level 30+ Ruby Dragons We Were Looking For, They Are Actually LV45+ Ruby Dragons. SOME Enemies(Like This One) Have Different LV Tables From Others.

If I remember, flare and meteor on Elemental defense will have u absorbing most elements

if you wanna your char resist to every element, just put 100 of each full-life, life, and shell, it will block 90% of every elemental damage. don't put ultima on elem def, its better to put ultima on HP

Yeah, draw Pain too from triface, Mug and turn him into card for Curse spike (for Ultima magic later)

If you spec Rinoa right, you can turn her into an OP meteor spamming machine once she gets here second limit break.

Hahahhahahaha Anytime, David. I Actually FOUND This On My Own When I Was Playing The Game For Like The 2nd Time, When I Was Experimenting With Leveling And Stuff. XD

In case you dont want to hunt for said ruby dragon, you have a forced encounter with one during a Laguna sequence at the beginning of disc 3. That's where I got my 300 meteors and the other 200 flares I was missing.

@Vegesther yeah you only need about 5k health, 100 meltdowns on your vitality will do most the work, you should have extra adamitnes for VIT 60 percent if you need more protection

In the Config menu, change the Cursor setting to Memory, which keeps the battle cursor on the same option from the last time that character's window was open.

this is cool, i knew this trick when i was in middle school, i was a ff8 maniac, here the best junction i put, HP : Ultima, Str : Meteor, Vit : Meltdown, Mag : Quake, Spr : Reflect, Spd : Triple, Eva : Tornado, Hit : Double, Luck : Aura. Elem Def : Full-life, Life, Shell, - . ST-Def: Pain, Berserk, Confuse, Death/Sleep (Put Death before fight Omega). In Ability just put Spr+60, Vit+60, Spd+40, and Mag+60, just keep the char level as low as possible before you got the stats bonus, and start levelling when you put stats bonus on junction.. you will got 255 all stats and untouchable character and can defeat omega weapon without hero or invincible stuff even before he cast terra break

Question why didn't you turn Ruby Dragon to a card if I'm not mistaken you get multiple Flare from the things that Ruby Dragon car mods in to buy think you need like eight or ten Ruby dragons in order to use the mod and get one item

I am guessing because it will be over level 40 and if you are going for a low level game it would just be easier to run away then to try and card it.

I found a lvl 42 Ruby dragon but it didn't have meteor or flare...

How did he draw so fast , was there something else besides the 3x speed??

@@whiteeeveeangel It's Actually A Powerful Non-Elemental Physical-Based Attack, And He Only Uses It(Along With Meteor And Firaga) If You Have Your Entire Party Standing. With One Character DOWNED, He'll Only Use His Normal Attack And Fira/Aero.

The Remastered version includes 3 "cheats" built in that you can toggle by clicking the analogue sticks. Left stick lets you speed up the game by 3 times, both sticks together let you turn encounters on and off, and the right stick will keep your HP maxed, keep your ATB full, and give you limit break while it is on. You can see which cheats are being used by the red icons on the lower left of the screen in the black letterbox area.

@@Auroralights321 Not A Glitch, It's Actually An Exploit. LV45+ Ruby Dragons(And MAYBE The LV35-44s?) Use Their Damaging "Breath" Attack(Which Is BIG NON-ELEMENTAL PHYSICAL Damage, Kind Of Like Bahamut's MEGA FLARE) On The Party ONLY If ALL 3 Are Alive, Along With Firaga And Meteor. So If One Is DEAD, They Use Only Their Normal Attacks, Fira, And Aero.

An early way to do it is to get the Krysta card, then each card can be modded into 10 Holy Stones, then each one of them can then be modded into a Holy Spell. So, if you get 10 Krysta cards, you can get 100 Holy spells.

Back then yeah. I did it, but nowadays no chance. I think it is stupid to not die, because the game strongly encourages you to kill your own characters to prevent XP gain, I found it much easier the second time by killing whoever I needed to kill to ensure they didn't gain levels.

Why isn’t it attacking normally. I got smashed by it

@@patrickcurrie6347 the weird thing is... Apocalypse can be junctioned to your stats as they programmed that into the game. Maybe it was planned to be a spell you could obtain but they changed their minds.

@@happiestaku6646 not really. Magics are objects that have certain attributes that are always present in all objects of the same class. Therefore once you create a Magic you can Draw it, Cast it, Junction it, etc.. It is just easier to program a new Magic into the game with all properties than to for whatever reason introduce a "special" Magic that can only be cast and nothing else.

If you card, then afaik, you don't gain exp.

Wait, why the dragon didnt attack you, in that level

A HIGHER LEVEL Ruby Dragon(LV45+ One) ONLY USES "Meteor" And "Firaga" And "Breath" IF You Have ALL 3 Characters "Alive" In Battle. Otherwise, He Just Uses His Physical Attacks And "Fira" And "Aero". Not Sure If The LV35-44 Ruby Dragons Use "Breath" Or Not.

@@rabbitrabbit3467 Hmmm, Your Characters Might Not Be LOW LEVEL Like Fuzz's Characters Were, And You Coulda Also Leveled The Ruby Dragon Up WAY MORE Than Fuzz Did. I KEPT MY Characters At LEVEL 8(For PRETTY MUCH The ENTIRE Game Your Characters' Levels Should Be LEVEL 10 MINIMUM(Except For Of Course "Rinoa" And Irvine Who Join AT Levels 11 And 13 Respectively)). ATMOST You Only Have To Use Tonberry's "LV Up" Ability On The Ruby Dragon "Twice" To Be Able To Draw-Stock "Meteor"(And "Flare" If You Have NOT YET Gotten It From Disc 1 Farming "Ruby Dragon" Cards). Also, You May Not Have Your Characters' STATS Properly Junctioned Either.

@@rabbitrabbit3467 Basically, What I'm Saying Is "AVOID ANY LEVELING In Final Fantasy VIII From The VERY BEGINNING Of The Game If AT ALL Possible(EXCEPT FOR If Your Trying To Learn "Card" For Quezacotl) Before Going For The Fire Cavern. In "That Case", Use The Beach Near Balamb Garden And Balamb As Those Battles With Fastitocalon-Fs Give 6 ABPs Apiece And Quezacotl's "Card" Ability Only Takes 40 ABP And Once You Learn That You Can CARD Enemies The REST OF The Way And AVOID EXP ENTIRELY After That(For HUMAN Enemies Just Use "Break" On Them Without Even Damaging Them). Learning "Card" For Quezacotl Will Also Unlock "Card Mod" So You Can Learn That Right Away And Start Refining Cards Early And Become Even More OP(Such As Getting End-Game Weapons).

If you want to always find a Ruby Dragon in this area then save your game, exit the game and reload your save. The next fight in the forest will always be a Ruby Dragon.

Not really sure what drawing from the Ruby Dragon has anything to do with cheats. You can grind without cheats if you prefer, like in the original game. For those of us who did that back then we are always using the cheats because it makes the farming of items a LOT less boring.

Refuses to spoil the name of a location (which, really, saying "_____'s house" wouldnt really spoil anything) on a remaster of a 20 year old game lmao
