Great video ! This is a good how to video that is well done ! These are the kinds of video's I love to find when I have to work on something, If you can see it done it makes it oh so much easer to do when you have to yourself ! There are tricks to everything and have the right tools makes a big difference getting a job done, I'd like to have a set of those snap ring plyers you have there (its on a long list of tools I want ) but for now I have 2 different ones to use. Keep up the great work and video's ! Bandit

Would the process be the same for a mf 245? And what size nut is holding the steering wheel on? Thanks a bunch bud! Great video!

I would assume similar but I have never worked on a massy. Thanks for the comment though and good luck!

Sand the rust away before you remove the old seal.

Hello from Finland, can you tell me if the process is similar with IH 674 sold in Finland / Europe? I assume that it is.? Very good video!

Thank you! I would say most likely. I have never owned a 674 but I have looked at several considering to purchase. They look like a similar set up. If replacing the seals you may have to remove the "nose" of the hand pump to replace.

I did this job on my 706 and a week later the leak returned. I would like to find the ORIGINAL seal kit. Not much faith in this new kit.

This video is a few years old and mine still doesn't leak. I used factory parts from my local bane welker. The farther they go switching to CNHI though the worse the parts availability and reliability are getting. Working on rebuilding another gas 706 now and I'm not getting any parts from the dealer. If you know me that's pretty rare. I always use factory parts if I can.

@@wannabefarmer6056 Not really on an incline but it did sit for about about year on fairly flat ground, should the steering still work when the engine is off just harder steering? Thanks for the reply! John

@@jreding132 the steering wheel is a hand pump when engine is not on. So yes it works with the engine not on but you have to turn it several times in the same direction to get it to turn. Most likely you lost prime from sitting. If you have an air compressor handy you can pressurize the trans through the dipstick to prime it.

@@wannabefarmer6056 Thanks Shawn- I will give the air compressor a try..the engine runs and the machine moves, the pto and rear hydraulics lift the brushcutter.
