Ditto! I was raised in the city but loved when I went working on the farm. The job I have now allows me to sneak out to the farm at times during the day! The farmer and I are like brothers. Some things he can't do and I can actually can fill in those spots from mechanical to electrical fixes. You are getting to do the best work in the world. I go home tired and sleep all night...blessings to you! Oh and get you a really big magnet to carry in the field! Handiest tool ever!

Sure makes ya think "design flaw"....something that the manufacturer decided to improve but in reality it wasn't thought through perfectly. The guy that fabricated what you needed has maybe seen this problem before?? And you're right - frustrating things like this (and all it takes to get through them) can certainly test a couples' strength. So far, so good!! And you rounding up tools and helping when you can surely helps in a frustrating situation moreso than just standing there and asking, "whatcha gonna do now"?? Most guys would love to have a helper like you!!

Numerous people having trouble with the folding auger. Large part of the problem is someone at the plant got sloppy and didn't shim them properly during assembly. Should have been taken care by the dealer when the previous owner had trouble.

Several people drew a deep breath with your arm in that auger. Don't be a statistic! Always ask how can this hurt me, motor off, hydraulic pressure off, etc. Zack had a wakeup call with the motor. The work will be there tomorrow. Don't get in a hurry. Your doing a great job being there for Zack and being a great wife learning the tools and machines. I use a tarp on the ground to catch stuff. Left hand drill and cordless drill (centerpunch and drill). Magnet on a rope. Tool truck that is organized by you. More of us are with you everyday, Jordan and we care.

Looks like you need to remove the section that folds and just unload the grain without the extension. Until you have the Draper head you don’t need the extra auger length. Hope the fix the JD tech put on it works.

That's what I was gonna suggest...or just fold back the extension when ya dump...even if ya have to stop to dump each load, it's faster than all the down time to replace the shear bolt...until ya get a rain day, or another break with time to fix it right!!! I know that stuff gets old really quick !!

Long day Jojo: it is so enjoyable watching you combining. Facing all the problems that happen when they break down👎 Being able to communicate with the other hand is crucial! Your doing an excellent job👍Trying to fix something that was a problem from the factory is Very Tough Out In The Field! Especially when darkness is setting in. What is great about this recording is that there is No Swearing!! Keeping cool heads allows for thinking out the problem better. You definitely have lots on your mind Jojo with the farming to think about your husband that passed. I’m sure it still comes up as he enjoyed being in the field👍 Just take things one day at a time! When your done for the day: grab some food, soak in the tub!! Epsom salts help there. Have a glass of wine. Wind down and hit the hay. I’m sure you get up very early. Great day Jojo👍 B Deacon Manitoba Canada 🇨🇦

I have no clue about farming, but stumbled on these videos through the one you made mimicking the Bentley ad. It's really refreshing and fascinating to discover some machinery we do not see on a daily basis and how your work looks like. Keep up the cool stuff 😎. cheers from Switzerland

My wife's brother and nephew farm 1500 acres in Illinois. I have seen and heard them deal with this type of issue all the time. They HAVE to do repairs themselves or wait and wait for a service tech. My hat is off to the American farm. I've seen how hard they work.

bolts shear for a reason, they are doing what they were meant to do, let you know something mechanical isn't right. Something is askew or tension against the wrong mating piece. Ask John Deere what they can do to salvage their reputation. In this day and age of video communication. Farmers can make or break a manufacturer. They can redeem themselves or tell you to piss off. Get JD involved in their fix. It is apparent that the size of the job the X9/1100 is capable of and it's short coming is less than 100% ability. Longer shaft or stronger spring or slow down and adjust to rain rut or whatever a combination of things so you can get harvest or job done. Match made in Heaven, you and Zach, great story, keep sharing. Play off each others strengths and push on, adapt and over come... Peace and prayers y'all. Congrats on the 100K, who'd have thunk

Working with any of your family can test you in ways you never believed possible. I loved ,and miss, my dad so much. But I hated working on things with him. He also taught me so much.

You guys are fantastic!!!!! Just an FYI, if you can send us or forward specs of the shear bolt and we can probably make them cheaper than what you sound like you are paying.

You need to keep a big magnet on the side of your toolbox so when you drop something metal in the field, you can find it quickly.
