Farideh’s Fried Ravioli & Vodka Sauce | The Cooking Show

Ойын-сауық

Farideh walks through how to make fried ravioli, the unhealthy but tastier cousin to the traditional stuffed noodle dish. She uses three kinds of cheese and Italian sausage for filling and creates a velvety vodka sauce, transforming a standard ravioli into a crispy, dippable, hand-held appetizer.

I have never considered frying Ravioli. Damm that looks great. I agree with the folks who make the sheet pasta that looks very thick for Ravioli. However considering she is frying it maybe a good idea. That said a rolling pin and a few minutes of work and you could roll it thinner. Anyway I got to give that vodka sauce a try. I believe it would go well with my 3 cheese and smoked salmon Ravioli. Everyone have a great day 🌤. Oh and Sicily 👍🍷

The funny thing is that you keep saying Sicily, like vodka is the least Sicilian aspect of this dish, but you should also add pasta, butter and tomatoes to that list.

Host is amazing, one thing I'd mention is you can get some nice "premade" raviolis and vodka sauce from store and cut the prep time in half. IMO rolling raviolis is a pain in the ass and the store bought ones in the refrigerated section of the supermarket are usually pretty high quality.

@@ScottMcQuownTX not sure what the anger is about, I was only pointing out that you can get to like %80 of this in %50 of the time. You still have to fry etc, you just don't need to roll the raviolis. I personally loathe rolling pasta. Also everyone skips steps, the host did not make the pasta from scratch, and did not crush their own tomatoes.

There are flavor and aroma compounds in tomatoes that are ONLY alcohol soluble. Adding vodka, wine, etc is the only way to volatilize these compounds and unlock their flavor. EVERY red sauce you make should have some alcohol in it, otherwise you are leaving flavor behind.
