Farewell to the 53808 7F steam locomotive (04/11/2023)

this was definitely an emotional day, but I'm glad to know that since this day, they have decided to go ahead with her overhaul, it's wonderful to know that one day she will return to the tracks!

Another well captured film of an interesting design. I like the lingering view of the broadside which is not often seen. Only eleven of these locomotives were built by the Midland Railway for operation on the notoriously graded and awkward Somerset and Dorset Railway between Bath and Bournemouth, a job which they successfully fulfilled between 1914 and 1964. It's saying something that two of these locos have been preserved. The saving and restoration of our industrial railway heritage is nothing short of a miracle. Thanks for posting.
