I followed Optic into Valorant after the Envy team merger, loved watching these players together. The fact they didn’t make it into franchising is a joke to me, Optic is and has been one of the largest esports organisations since the beginning of esports, had the best and most consistent placing this entire season but still didn’t get a place 😅. Riot fumbled this Franchising decision

yeah i’m disappointed myself… i’m sure there are reasons the public is unaware of, but it still feels wrong that they didn’t make it through. regardless they went out on top with three top 3 placements this year, so they went out on a high note.

@@fourfather is very true, I feel there were much better ways of introducing franchising though. I’d have liked to have seen top 3 from champs get automatic places and then top 4-5 teams from each region fill the rest of the spots. But money wins all at the end of the day I suppose, who cares if the organisation has brought the biggest new audience 🤷🏻♂️😂

i actually like EG in franchising, a bit boring on the clout/content side but developing talent like they do is cool. mibr on the other hand, is owned by some shady ass people, and i would replace them in a heartbeat. their OWL team has to be the most mismanaged mess i have ever seen.

@@frizzy3749 Quite unfair for them to judge H3QZ for organisation decisions made by a different managing group and in a completely different game though. Especially when they’ve shown what they bring to the game and the passion of Optic fans
I started watching Valorant competitive last year and when I saw ENVY/OpTic and yay specifically I knew there was something special. I think if Optic had won Champions they would've been summentted as the GOAT team.

it's so weird how Optic didn't make it into franchising... But seeing that, I can't help but think of how weird it would've been if Optic DID win Champions, but was revealed to not appear in franchising. That would be so sad and funny...

the optic vs gambit argument pretty much boils down to if you value longevity or peak, also i will likely never cover gambit because i think commend already put out a video on them

@@fourfather I mean the "longevity" is very much slightly differing for gambit but it is because they were dealing with immense amount of bullshit in 2022, which was hugely depressing, so i think that argument is pretty invalid. Also, it is ok if u dont want to do the gambit vid. I just requested for it. :)
