Taylor Lemoine Lorne, the producers at SNL, and the host for the week decide what scripts become full sketches based on what they liked from the table reads, so even though Che and Jost are the head writers that doesn’t mean that they’re the only ones who are deciding what goes on the show. So if you’re gonna call out Che and Jost then you might as well be mad at everyone involved in making the sketches.

Now people may have the ability to be breathtakingly stupid but I don’t think anyone can be that dumb. Unless of course you yourself skipped ahead because you have the attention span of a fucking fruit fly and ruined the punchline for yourself, hence why you made this comment in the first place.

Their pre-recorded/filmed performances are usually much much better than their performances filmed live in front of an audience. Here, you're hearing the audience respond to a meticulously crafted, practiced, and reshot-until-perfection recording. The same was true with Key & Peele. Live, they were corny and not so funny. Recorded, brilliant and knee-slapping all the way.

@Juno the exaggerated blood is to heavily contrast against the serious, realistic tone of the movie it was trying to imitate. It's not the excessive blood that's funny, it's the sharp turn the sketch took. The extended length of bleed time lets the audience have a moment to react to what was happening. I'm only mildly surprised I had to explain this because autism, unlike god, is real.

Nobody cares. Williams was a wonderful actor and a mildly amusing comedian. Dead Poets Society was one of the all time stupid, juvenile melodramatic crap that was ever filmed which is exactly why this sketch is so hilarious.

This is my absolute favorite sketch SNL has done!! I had already seen “Dead Poets’ Society” two years prior to seeing this for the first time (and loved it), so I was already familiar with it and the ending. The acting in this is SUPERB!! Seeing them play it straight is fantastic! And then when.......THAT moment happened, I busted out laughing, harder than I had ever laughed before the first time I saw it. I have come back to it NUMEROUS times after initially seeing it, and it STILL makes me laugh!! I LOVE THIS SKETCH!!!!
