I don't pretend to understand politics in France or anywhere else in Europe, but what this suggests to me is that people are sick of do-nothing, impotent centrism. We have serious, existential problems that are becoming worse, and neoliberal capitalism has no real answers to any of those problems. Saagar is right that the elite - liberal or not - are extremely unpopular around the world.

really 3 socio-political divisions in the world. The "centrists" which are really neo-Feudalists which want Corporate/Government control by a small group of Elites. That's pretty much the Establishment of the Western World. Then you have the diverse group of revolutionists who want to destroy all things White, male, and European. It's a hodge podge group of Feminists, Islamists, and other groups. Each group thinking that they well inherit the keys to the kingdom. Finally, you have the normal serfs that provide all the labor and taxes that finance the other divisions. They are nationalists, and just want order and the ability to feed and shelter themselves. The serfs have finally realized that the other divisions have reached sufficient power to bend them over the couch and ream them good.

They're not, there's moderate right and traditional conservatives that do not get this label. This coalition is labeled far right because of their xenophobia, outright racism and protectionist economic plans. In terms of their economic ideology, they're actually anti-globalist and to some degree, anti-capitalist. They have very little in common with the traditional liberal right, hence the "far right" -label.

Saagar, the NFP is not “moderate socialists” as you claim. They definitely have some in the coalition but LFI is far-left and they have people like Philippe Poutou who is literally an anarcho-communist and head of the “New Anti-Capitalist Party” (NPA).

Les Francais ne sont pas dupes, la LFI est clairement vu par la majorite des Francais comme etant extreme... Il suffait de regarder comment la majorite presidentielle gere les triangulaires du 2nd tour des legislatives: "ni RN, ni LFI". Ca veut tout dire: 1) eux meme considerent la LFI comme extreme 2) ils savent que les electeurs le pensent... ou les deux.

Le Pens party are literally moderate socialists. They are very very left wing by global standards. However they are predominantly white in a country rapidly losing its white population, therefore called "far right" by American racial activists. So much in politics is word games.

They are far right, as you MAGA republicans are (borderline fascists). Because you don't like to be called that doesn't matter. That's what you are on the global political compass. I'm french btw. The RN is a party founded by a bunch of Waffen SS and collaborationists and it is and has always been far right. That's why everyone that isn't RN are setting their quarrels aside to crush them at the polls next sunday. The fact that you align with the RN makes you squarely far right.

I think they are simply "normal" and not far right.

A little bit of an interesting note: what this show is missing, as a result of everyone being on vacation, is a back-and-forth( obviously). But a “radar” style deep dive on a top would help change the tone and direction! Not that there is anything wrong here. Just maybe the approach really does need to change when only 1 host is available?

For those uninformed like Sagaar and Krystal - Le Pen is not "far right". She is the moderately right wing leader of a party that used to be far right until she reformed it. She is very left wing economically, anti immigration and socially conservative.

They don't want government intervention but then cry about corporatocracy, monopolies, price manipulation, military industrial complex, labor exploitation, Wall Street corruption, global imperialism. This same thing happened a couple of years ago. Le Pen got 34% and everybody was going crazy but then she lost the 2nd round because you need over 50% to actually win and most of France doesn't want her. So literally nothing changed. And now we're here. It's like I'm watching a rerun.

"Far right" and "far left" do not designate the least popular positions. They simply designate the positions with the least amount of compromise on each side or the left/right in their "purist" forms. The far right doesn't stop being far right when it becomes popular nor does the far left.

@@Spanky00Cheeks No, because your "zero compromise" has limits. Also, there's no way of knowing what your starting point is. "Zero compromise" means that there are NO left-leaning remnants if the purest "far right" position or no right-leaning remnants in the purest "far left position".

Macron was never compromising, most of his legislation was on the right and the part on the left was never significantly important for the voters. He's often found common ground with LR (historical main party on the right) but rarely with LFI (radical left party) which is thecurrent main player on the left.
