Absolutely the best instructionals I have seen on KZread. You sir are a philosopher and tier one professor. Bravo. I have learnt so much watching these videos. I was struggling to land in the right spot with this armbar. You have solved that problem. Thank you

Thank you LG! I've been doing this for years, but these variations will definitely improve my percentages. Much respect from USA!

I have bad pliability in my hips making that step over difficult. I love your detail about leaning in against the hip line. That should probably open up my mobility a bit. Thanks for posting.

Great tutorial! 👏 I haven't been able to train for most 2021 and my submission game has gotten real rusty! I'll be drilling this technique this week, thank you!

5:20 I see this explained a lot as "step over the head". I first learned a decent armbar when I discovered to "step around the head" and not "over" it. I think "step around the head" is a better way to explain. Great vid. Thx

Many thanks for this excellent video! We have been trying this technique out in training recently and the guy underneath was often able to come up when the man on top turns and sits down. Am I right in thinking that the tip about blocking the back of uke with the foot and keeping the knee up while swiveling should address the issue of uke using tori's momentum to escape? Keep up the brilliant work!

I'll tentatively say that is the correct answer but would probably have to see a video of how the opponent is escaping to confirm. Test it out yourself and report back!

Am I right in thinking that from the moment you go knee on belly and grab the far arm, the head comes up, so could you force a dilemma between going for the far side arm-bar or dropping to the north south strangle??
