Hi Irene!! Great video and thank you so much for all of this information! I previously have an associates degree in an unrelated field (a.s in cardiovascular technology), and I took prereqs for nursing school (I have since changed my mind about nursing and don’t want to pursue it any further). I’ve noticed that those nursing prereqs can transfer over since dietetics also requires those same prereqs. I’m really hoping they do. I’m just wondering, if I have my associates in science degree, will it really take me the full 4 years to get a bachelor’s? I’ve already finished all of my general education classes. I’m hoping it will really cut down that time. I’m an older adult going back to school to change careers (I’m in my early 30s now) and thinking that it would take 4 years just to get a bachelor’s makes me so nervous. And then pursuing a master’s too. I’m looking at maybe 5-7 years of schooling! I only have my math requirement left and then I can actually transfer to a local university that has an accredited dietetics program.

I enjoyed watching this video and hearing your tips and experiences as a dietitian. I have no plans to become a dietitian right now but I would love to try and work in the field of nutrition. I am just trying to figure out what I should do once I graduate with my bachelors.❤☺

Love your videos!! And I am excited to watch your video each time you post. And can’t wait to become a dietitian! ❤️🙏🏻🙌🏻✝️ god bless! I have a question someone told me that I could work with a health care company like TriHealth during college and she was saying that some health care companies would help people with college. Do you know anything about this??

Aww thank you! I haven't heard of college students working for health care companies in the past... I'm not sure what type of work or what the scope would be if you were able to. There are plenty of companies (not necessarily in healthcare) that offer tuition assistance after you have been at the company for a certain amount of time (usually at least 1 year) regardless of what degree you are pursuing. Usually it's a few thousand dollars a year. When I worked at CVS as a pharmacy technician a few years ago they had a program like this. I have also heard Target has a pretty good program for those pursuing higher education as well.

Can you talk about your college journey lows and ups

Hey! I don't know if I'd be able to speak fairly on that topic. I feel a little too far removed from college at this point haha. I mostly remember the ups, not so much the downs from college. I feel like most of my downs in college were mere annoyances and seem a little insignificant from where I'm at now. Sorry, that's probably not what you want to hear!

Can you take courses at a community college as pre reqs for grad school?

Most programs will accept credit from community colleges (as long as it's US accredited) but if there's ever any questions about courses from a community college, it's good to reach out to the program you're wanting to apply to for more information/guidelines as some of the course curriculum may differ from college to college.

So if I obtain a bachelor's degree in Nutrition, do I need to get my master's? If so, what should I get my masters in?

I think she said to get a masters degree in other fields as well if you did bachelor's in nutrition.
