One of the most emblematic places of Cuevas del Becerro is the Fuente del Nacimiento. This enclave is actually a set of canals, cisterns and pipes known for being the place where Alfonso XI "The Vigilante" rested in 1330 before directing the attack of his troops to Ronda.
Cuevas del Becerro is a village of Mozarabic origin located on a promontory of the Guadalteba region. Known for being the northern gateway to the Serranía de Ronda, its territory is dominated by the Sierra de Vijan, the Cerro de los Tercios and the Río de las Cuevas.
Astronomy lovers are in luck, because they have a new place in the province of Malaga to enjoy their passion: Cuevas del Becerro. This town in the region of Guadalteba is now officially a 'starlight' town, which means that it is one of the best in Spain to see the stars.
