This is a great rendition of this song. I only wish you have a folksy/bluesy woman to sing the "black girl" parts. Very haunting, upsetting and beautiful. Thank you.

the song dates back to the 1870s nobody knows who wrote it....first published in 1917, first recorded in 1926 by Doc Walsh...been covered about a gazillion times including Leadbelly in the 1940s before Kirk Cobain did in 1993....
