I also love ilomilo. I might agree with you on Chihiro but as of now I cannot get myself to like how her voice sounds in the chorus. It already started sounding strained in the prechorus and I couldn't believe it when she thought she could pull off the even higher notes of the chorus

7 is a solid score. In some aspects it’s my favorite album of hers but there are some elements that didn’t hook me as much as previous records. Still a solid and mature pop record that I can see myself revisiting here and there.

I like a lot of the songs on the album, but I still wanted more honestly. It’s kind of an unfair expectation, but I like Billie’s singing so much, and Finneas’ production fits her so well, that I really think they could make something incredible, and this album doesn’t really try. It’s more of a lighter, more fun, and less ambitious release, and that’s fine, but I still think they could do soooooo much better. I haven’t seen many others feel the same way. What do you think?

@@Nori-zw1wwyeah but that’s also cuz he mostly reviews things he likes. He listens to a lot of music, but he only posts reviews on artists that are very popular, or albums he likes. Thats why almost all negative reviews on the channel are for very popular albums. Cuz he doesn’t do reviews on lesser known artists if he doesn’t like them.

Overall, this album has some amazing production and I completely understand those who give it a higher rating. This being said, i feel as if Billie took a backseat to the production on this album compared to Finneas' amazing production. Billie's vocals aren't as pronounced or unique as they have been in her previous projects, but the production has improved to such an extent that there's just a mismatch in my opinion. If Billie had been more present on these beats, i could see this getting an 8/10 or above for me, her performances just don't live up to the production. Lots of the tracks have a lot of empty space and feel drawn out, skinny only having 27 lines in a 3 and a half minute song just drags on. The issue with this album for me is almost entirely the fact almost all of the songs shouldve been 2/3rds as long. For me its a 6.9-7.2 album.

Friendly reminder that Billie Eilish kinda a nepo baby and only famous because i think her mom or some close relitave is lika a huge music producer.

I think Fantano is starting to realize he overrated her debut in context of his scoring system (it’s still great though).

I don’t agree, her debut is a fantastic pop album, still can’t name a single other pop album like it. It’s a 2010s classic for me. I agree with the 7/10 rating for this album, it’s very well done and executed well, but in terms of lyrics and hitting hard it doesn’t quite do that for me.
