People have to keep in mind that season 11 was already written when they were approached to do these 6 episodes. They weren’t going to rewrite everything months before filming. I just say don’t judge these 6 episodes too harshly.

Paola Lazaro was sensational in this episode. Transformed Princess from a caricature into a full-fledged character. Excellent compilation Skybound.

For those who are confused: The interactions with the soldiers were real. Everything else was not. At the end of the episode you can see that the hole she used to speak with yumiko and the one she used to meet eugene arent there.

yall remember season 2 when Rick kept putting a blindfold over that kids head. so he doesnt know where the farm is. This is the same thing. They blindfolded them so they dont know where the camp is not to kill them.

Paola Lázaro performance as Juanita Sanchez aka Princess was outstanding. It's a complete deep dive into the character mental health and Paola as Princess brings a shy vulnerability that immediately demands empathy from viewer. A deep and honest look at PTSD, depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, and gives a good look at how living through abuse can alter your viewpoint of the world. Few things are more frightening than not been able to trust your own preception of reality. I was genuinely amazed by the twist halfway through the episode with all being in her head. Princess has quickly become one of my favorite characters. She's tough, independent, clever, and vulnerable all at once, and i loved following her through the twists and turns of this great episode.

I think Her getting thrown in the train cart, The interview, her interactions with the soldier in the cart, leaving the cart at the end and coming back to the soldier is real, everything else is not. That might be it, could be wrong lol

On Talking Dead they said that any interactions between Princes and the other 3 were all in her head, except for the very beginning and very end, but everything else was real.

@@TheSlammurai I couldn't tell if they meant that part or not. I thought they showed that part of the train car (during the episode) and that board wasn't there, but I couldn't tell for sure because of the lighting. So she never tried to escape after she beat up that soldier either?

Princess has been so traumatized as a child she dissociates. It's a response to extreme trauma especially as a child. This happens in real life too but it's pretty uncommon. It has to be a pretty traumatic experience to disassociate that damn bad though. Still happens. The thing is her self preservation is her ultimate downfall. She tries to see the good in everyone only to be traumatized again through guilt and loss.

Love Princess and glad we got to see more of her! The episode title is interesting as in her personality is kind of "split" in this episode. Through all the trauma she's experienced and being alone, reality isn't really straight for her. Very interesting! Also, these 6 episodes are basically based on character development and stuff we wouldn't have seen. I like them so far being stand alone's. Anyone that was expecting crazy action or whatever from them...Idk what you thought these episodes would be lol. I think they're great!

I liked the allegory of the splinter being the representation of her splitting personalities due to her PTSD of being abused. I feel like this unfortunately hits home to a lot of people.

I absolutely loved this episode. Paola performance was brilliant. I myself am enjoying these extra episodes. Ppl need to remember that this world isn't always about killing walkers and fighting. The fans wanted backstories and more stories about these characters. I say let's enjoy them while we have them. I can't wait for tonights episode.

When I first watched this episode, it really looked like Ezekiel was with Princess when he beat up that Commonwealth Soldier, but it turns out it was Princess who did the beating. I didn’t even realize that she was hallucinating until I saw the reaction.

The acting in this episode was great you could tell that the Yumiko, Eugene and Ezekiel interactions weren't real

Reminds me of the character of Mr Norton in Fightclub

*Princess has spent over a year by herself in isolation away from everyone. Add that with childhood trauma, extreme stress and depression.. you will get any one of a DOZEN mental illnesses with it. Maybe severe bipolar disorder with schizophrenic tendencies and borderline personality disorder? It shows why it's so important to have friends and family to talk to. Imagine sitting in a room by yourself for year without anyone to talk to. You'd go cuckoo bananas too.*

These are filler episodes filmed during a pandemic. I’m not sure why the everyone was expecting 15 million dollar Hollywood production level episodes. Just be happy we get this extra backstory and extra episodes all together. I really don’t know what everyone was expecting from filler episodes.

You can definitely tell what reactors read the spoilers before the episodes.

They said on Talking Dead that everything except the very beginning and the very end in regards to interactions between Princess and Eugene, Yumiko, and Ezekial was in her head. But her getting interviewed, the shower, her almost running away, etc was all real.
