The uruguay flag is a nod to a club legend Danny bergara, he was a manager for us back during the late 80s to mid 90s and he took us to Wembley 4 times, got us promoted, an absolute hero within the fanbase, obviously he is from uruguay hence the flag up there

National League is approaching parity with League Two now. It's only a matter of time before they're either inducted into the EFL pyramid

@@josephpickard3108 that's going too far about the national league being inducted into the football league when some teams aren't even professional. However there are around a dozen of clubs with EFL pedigree and clubs like Notts County, Wrexham, Stockport and Chesterfield who wouldn't look out of place in the EFL compared to clubs like Forest Green, Barrow, Fleetwood etc.

Nah they just need to make more promotion places, solihull cam 2nd by a point and lost in the playoffs and there are plenty of other teams in national league who belong in football league

My Grandad has been supporting Stockport his whole life, from when he was a child, to an elderly man. Its been his passion, his joy, his agony, but most of all, his team. He regularly shows me his Stockport photobooks every week. He's always talking to me about the old days, when he used to go to Edgeley Park every game, and sit in this specific section and watch as they played Man City at home, and gained promotion to Division 2. And now, he can watch on television, as they pull off the biggest and most heartfelt win of their new history. He truly feels love for Stockport again. I love my Grandad. And therefore I will always have a soft sport for Stockport County.

As a neutral it was honestly one of the best games of football I’ve watched in a long time. But yeah Stockport absolutely took you to the cleaners in that second half it was just attack after attack with no reply. They fully deserved the win.

I’ve been a season ticket holder at Stockport for 16 years (since I was 6) and that is probably the best game of football I’ve seen at EP, I genuinely thought when Bolton’s 3rd went in that was it, as they say “it’s not over till the fat lady sings”

No one can deny that the greatest sound in football is hearing the crowd scream “go on” followed by silence followed by the scream of “yes!!!!!”

not many teams can do it on a cold night in stockport

That match was amazing especially when the fans ran on at the end they were incredible throughout the game as they supported their club so well done Stockport

The reason why there's a Uruguay flag there is because it represents the passing of one of our greatest managers at the club called Danny Begara who died in 2007. Before he became our manager back then, he used to play for us as well.

Enjoyed that very much - great video, thanks; one of those games make you appreciate the wins when they come along - what a rollercoaster. The flags are a bit of a feature at Edgeley Park, well spotted with the Uruguay flag 👏 which is there in memory of Danny Bergara (look him up). Apart from the obvious ones like the Union Jack, the other one you probably didn’t recognise was the Cheshire flag - three yellow wheatsheaves on a blue background; the County bit of the club’s name = historic county borough of Cheshire.

Fair dinkums Stockport as a Bolton fan we had no reaction or desire to your commitment and passion and were outplayed. Went to the home game v Stockport your fans were class all day and continued that tonight. You don't belong in the non league seen and the sooner you are back in the football league the better. Stockport fan here, so really enjoyed the vlog! What a game and what an atmosphere there was at Edgeley Park last night. Such a shame that a percentage of our ‘fans’ let SCFC down by getting on the pitch. It’s a reoccurring habit we have at the club unfortunately and one that needs to be stopped immediately.

ian i totally agree with you. yes i understand why our fans did it .but its not fair on the groundsmen who make it look awsome week in and week out . i used to do it at county for a few months and its not easy to repair .

Rangers fan here, i was confident in a comfortable Bolton, I put you on to win both halves, it was a cracking game to watch but Bolton's defending was just so poor, Stockport deserved it with that come back, always next season lol.

Massive respect for Stockport today but if ur a Bolton player you’ve just got to hold your head In shame they were 3-1 up and then go on to concede 4 not good enough( neutral btw don’t hate me 🙂)

I genuinely love that you cared so much about this game. I'm a lifelong Ipswich fan and before last night we had won just 1 of our previous 20 FA Cup games (YES, ONE IN TWENTY!). Last night we scraped through with a late winner in a replay against Oldham after they had outplayed us in both games for long periods. I would have been gutted to lose.

Well done Thogdon for taking it like a man. Felt your pain. But Stockport - what a club right now. Been there with Bristol City many years ago and it’s a proper club. Looked fantastic full capacity. And the team were even better. Is that 656 days now then? Looking forward to next content mate!

Great win by County! A wonderful old fashioned cup tie. From memory I think Stockport once drew with Liverpool at Anfield in an FA Cup game in the 60s. At the time Stockport were bottom of the fourth division.

Well done Stockport. Ok they have a budget on parr with most clubs in League Two and several in League One but they are a proper club with a loyal fanbase and I, for one, would be happy to see them back in the FL rather then one of the fanless vanity projects like Salford, Harrogate, Fleetwood and FGR. The fact they beat Bolton makes it even better !!!

The money we have now is also a very recent thing as we have always had major money issues before this, and it's amazing that we finally have stability at the club. Our end game is the championship and I can only dream of reaching that again. I am old enough and lucky enough to have seen county in the old division one days and to get back to that would be absolutely fantastic! 🔵⚪
