German Stadiums in general are crazy. Even in the third division there are clubs which sometimes sell out a Stadium of 49.000

Even in the 4th league, you have more than 10.000 spectators, e.g. at Rot Weiss Essen (neighbour city of Gelsenkirchen)

Actually, Schalke is not a real second-division team. They played 30 years straight in the Bundesliga before relegation in 2021, the Bundesliga is currently playing its 60th season, and Schalke has played a total of 54 years in the Bundesliga. The club was relegated because serious mistakes were made by the club's leadership years before relegation. These people were all fired, and the new management put together a completely new team with a very small team budget of only €20 million in salaries.
Never been to a German football game, but you can tell this is one amazing atmosphere. Also what a stadium they have.

@@Abso57 I saw the stats some weeks ago… but I think for that particular gameday Bundesliga was first than the premier league, Lig1 and than the 2nd Bundesliga… but it depends on which teams playing at home on that particular gameday… if Bayern,BVB for example play away the attendance is obvs lower… and to be fair the 2nd Bundesliga is as high this year cuz Schalke,HSV and Bremen are in it which are normally Bundesliga clubs… I think in 18/19 Premier league had a higher attendance than Bundesliga but if ur looking at this season since fans are back the Bundesliga is the highest… The problem is there are no stats for the past 2 season due to Covid… but even if 2nd Bundesliga has overall a few thousand less than Seria A or Premiera Division it’s still impresiv

@@austriana319 yeah since there are no stats due to Covid in past 2 seasons and even this season is not comparable as BPL played with max. capacity since the start and buli since March it’s hard to say… when it comes to average utilization Buli is definitely higher when it comes to overall attendance it depends from season to season… this season overall attendance is not as high as the years before Covid cuz with Schalke and Bremen to big stadiums are not in 1st div and quite small stadiums like Fürth,Bielefeld are in first div…

I’m a chelsea fan and went to schalke away in the UCL about 8 years ago and of all the grounds I’ve been too it’s the only time I was blown away by the support and the ground itself. Incredible fans great football club good to see them back in the top flight a big club that deserves to be amongst the best in Germany.

Schalke, Hamburg and Bremen not only should be back in the Bundesliga but they should be challenging for a spot in Europe. Leverkusen and Villarreal are great examples of consistently being competitive despite being deemed the "smaller" which shows it's all about leadership from the top.
Watched Man City-Schalke champions league last 16 match a few years ago and the Schalke fans were loudly cheering their team on despite being multiple goals down. Very happy for Schalke to be back!

The second Bundesliga promotion race (and usually relegation too) is so close nearly every single season. People don't know just how competitive and fun that League actually is. Plus it hosts some of Germanys greatest Fans. For example Rostock, Dresden, next season Magdeburg and St. Pauli. It's always worth a watch or visit imo. Glad Schalke is back. I can finally travel to Gelsenkirchen next season. We'll leave our Red and White Mark though. Greetings from Berlin 🇮🇩

To be honest, the audio in this video still doesnt quite do justice to how the atmosphere actually was inside the stadium. Never ever experience such a loud crowd. It really was amazing watching this game live. Great stadiumvlog nonetheless.

Thogden this is a great video and it seriously brings back some incredible memories for me because I went to Schalke v Chelsea when we won 5-0 there in 2014 and that City it’s football club it’s stadium The Veltins and tbe people are incredible second to nobody I have been all over Europe watching Chelsea and following England and Schalke has made the biggest impression on me it’s truly a beautiful unspoilt place It’s a working class area an industrial area and the town centre is so lovely, tbe people are mega friendly and it’s true Schalke have the best fans in the world full stop it’s like a huge community a Schalke family and people don’t realise how big Schalke are, they are huge their fan base sings for 90 minutes most of the chants sung at palace and Watford etc come from Schalke and the whole Schalke experience is incredible There are so many people especially old school supporters from England that go to matches in Germany because English football doesn’t offer what the experience in Germany does I love Chelsea but I’d love to go back to Schalke and Gelsenkirchen and I definitely want to go to a Dortmund v Schalke game with the Schalke supporters though So well done Thogden and well done Schalke

I've been sitting on my fathers shoulders in the stands of their old Parkstadion when I was 2 years old, I can't even put into words what this last saturday meant to me. You will probably never get to see the best football at Schalke but being a fan you know that it doesn't matter as long as you have a stadium full of people whose hearts burn for the club. Bruh how is this possible? How can someone visit 4 matches in 4 different countries in just 4 days?! Where does he always get the tickets from?! How can he have time 24/7 ? How can he fly like 8 times every week?! All he needs to think about is when he will visit the next football match ... what a great life he has ... 0 problems, much money, he gets sponsored literally everything and he visits multiple citys every week ... just think about this, on Wednesday at 24 o glock he is in Madrid, and on Thursday at 17 o glock he is already in Marseille ... and on Saturday in Gelsenkirchen....

As an American I only discovered European football a couple years ago. I have mostly just watched the Premier league and Champions League. But recently I started watching other leagues too and was confused why every time a player gets touched it’s not called a foul. They actually let them play the game and it makes the flow so much better to watch. Also it seems like they spend wayyyyy less time on the ground crying. My friends hate European football so to make it interesting for them we usually place bets on how many times in the game a player will role around on the ground crying. It turns something that usually triggers them into something that entertains them. But it’s usually around 15 times for a premier league game but it has only been around 5 for other leagues. I’m glad I discovered these other leagues, sooooo much better to watch

Schalke is a special club. They had their best time i the 90s with uefa-cup win and 3 national cups. Schalke had a long tradition with 7 national champ titles late time back. Schalke get the second most followers in germany. Since Bundeliga founding 1963 they never were champs and wait for ... There are many Schalke Fans in Germany. That Club is a big one in Germany with great atmosphere.

Well i mean bayern has more members but also way more international members, because of the success obviously. In actuality, bayern schalke and dortmund are the big 3 and you cannot really differentiate, closely followed by teams like Frankfurt cologne or hamburg

13:52 Ko Itakura is a beast, he's actually on loan from Manchester City, i think he could be a top defender in the next few years (he's only 25, still quite young for a centerback), he played very well with Groningen in Eredivisie too and he's a solid starter for Japan National Team, along with Tomiyasu it could be a top defence.

I knew about how fanatic Schalke fans are, and how they always had full stadium when they played in the Bundesliga, i mean the first division. But it is crazy to have the same attendance even when you are playing in the second league. Basically say, we do not care who we are playing against, we came to watch our team. Amazing this culture of supporting your club no matter the circumstances. I read down in the comments how even in the second league Germans have amazing stadiums, sure but Schalke is not really a 2nd division club, it is one of the biggest clubs in Germany and they are not really used to playing 2nd division. They were relegated because of financial difficulties and not being able to pay big money for better players, at least i think that was the reason they ended there.

Was also in the stadium, when i lived in Germany. It was crazy here by RCD Mallorca you can't see an atmosphere like that.

i just said to my mates in halftime, we are gonna get promoted! And after every goal we said to each other, today is the day we gonna get promoted! after the third goal we shout out so loud, i cant speak today and feel to have to cry after watching every vlog today

This match wasn't incredible, this match was typical FC Schalke 04. Schalke isn't a normal club. My heart breaks every season. Listen, i'm Werder Bremen supporter, i watched the game and first i was a bit upset because of that turnaround. I mean, look at the table, if Schalke would have left points behind it would have been the best for Bremen. BUT first of all I need to point out, that I'm so proud of these Schalke Fans - THIS is german football and i'm glad that you english people saw a piece of it. Fans like that are making the difference and believe me if i say, that not only Schalke can create atmospheres like this. And second of all congrats to Schalke, Werder will follow next week :D
