I missed the G1 Prime when I was a kid so the original Power Master Prime was my Optimus. Loved that guy and this one looks great!

I think , this is the best Ginrai on the market ,,and is a masterpiece i mean what else do you want ,, looks astonishing

This guy + Marvel Comics head and hands upgrade = my perfect Optimus Prime. Marvel PMOP is my all time favorite Optimus so splurging on him was a no-brainer.

I'm really glad you've started saying Ginrai with a soft G. I don't care what anyone says, in the Masterforce series that's how they say it so that's how I like it to be said. So envious of you having this in hand already :)

You technically don't mentally I am not a psychologist toys give us nostalgia to childhood make our memories even more precious when we play with them as an adult!😃

I think the tampos look cool, gives a nice mecha anime feel to it.

The same think happen to me lol well similar I had a dream of having this figure with me but I never got a change to get a hold of the original as most of them where expensive so I am hoping to get this figure soon :).

I saw that MB-08 Double Evil Overlord and mann! He looks amazing!

Black Convoy same here. I missed Thunder Erebus (I wanted the black version) and Maketoys said they don't have plans to reissue the figure so I must have Thunder Manus. Mainly for the basic combined configuration. I'm not fan of the G. Bomber suit. :) Hope you enjoy yours!

This is quite possibly the coolest Optimus Prime I've ever seen (I know that he's a different character lore-wise). It sucks that companies rarely try to release figures of Super Ginrai 'cause this one is too out of my budget.

Despite the design flaws (that vertically too short trailer like SS44 DotM Jetwing Optimus Prime & Earthrise Optimus Prime, those wonky gaps in the torso, etc.), I think that this still looks great. Somebody else said that it looks like that Maketoys "Striker Manus", I'm inclined to agree...the main robot looks *A LOT* like "Striker Manus"...the similarities don't seem to be much (colors, chest windows), but they're definitely there. Maybe one day, you can do a brief comparison video featuring the Fans Hobby, Maketoys, Takara's LGEX plus PerfectEffect upgrades, and the original G1 versions of God Ginrai...that would be pretty epic. I wonder if this beast is still available in stores...

I'll be getting this one, Godbomber and their Overlord, but this guy will stay in Super Ginrai mode.

I love the truck, but the trailer is too short vertically. It's not tall enough relative to the truck cab. This means that when the truck cab cube is dropped into the trailer Super Armor, the cab cannot recess deeply enough. The cab still projects forward too far, which makes the combined mode look too chunky. If the trailer were bigger all around, the truck cab would recede more thoroughly into the trailer armor, and give longer, lankier proportions to his combined super mode. Those tampons are dynamite.

Great review. I have no attachment to Powermaster Prime. I have absolutely no interest in this figure. BUT. I can see why some would.

Benscollectables Sorry Ben my phone changed it The company I puchased from last month was (Robotkingdom) not toykingdom And I did ask for them to mark it low But there were 2 values on the box. One low value and the original value so I had to pay tax Tell me what to tell them in future and tell me how you always avoid import tax buying from them

How can you not want this? Its so nostalgic.....and true to form. Best one yet I'd say. How bout an ultra magnus like this....loosely of course. Based on G1 obviously.

Looks ok, I guess.

They could have doubled the value of this figure if they made the armor compatible wih mp10.

Does he have any diecast at all Ben? Trying to find out before I bite the bullet. Will likely get him anyway as I'm a sucker for a good articulated Prime (and boy is this well articulated with all those ratchets!), but I like me some metal in my figures :D

Injury to one module is felt by the other two. Strength : 10 Intelligence : 10 Speed : 8 Endurance : 10 Rank : 10 Courage : 10 Firepower : 8 Skill : 10 ------------ Personally I'd have Strength only at 10 if it only applies with bots of his size and not combiners - other wise giving him 10 doesn't make sense. Optimus is no Genius so I'd say a generous 9 is more appropriate Speed is way to high 3 is more reasonable Endurance is also to high as he has multiple components that use energy and cause him some issues - but he is relentless in battle so i'd be OK with a 9 Rank 10 is fine so long as you don't count the Original primes or Primus Courage 10 I suppose is OK - but he had "doubts" in the cartoons and comics so more realistically 8 or 9 - but his issues are not down to bravery so much as self-doubt. Firepower of 8 is likely about right his rifle is very powerful but no where near as powerful as Megatron's fusion cannon he also has missiles on his base mode so yeah 8 is about right Skill 10 - is a bit dubious without context - skill at what leadership, transportation what ? so I'd say 9 perhaps just as I doubt he's much of a pilot or submariner.

Power Baser is the best Super Ginrai so far for those of us into MP scale... But I dont particularly like the clunky, panelly look of the truck cab. And that trailer is too small. It's too short vertically, which looks off in alt mode and makes the side cannons interfere with the cab. And it's too short longitudinally, which makes his Super armor look insufficient when the truck is installed for Super bot mode, which makes him look fat. If the trailer had been a bit longer/taller, his Super bot form would have looked more heroic and animation-accurate. So I'm still on the fence about him.

Nice seeing one of the fugliest G1 toys turned into something actually sexy and desirable.
