I believe she wants to tell Native American stories as truly they are. That’s why she participates in these roles. There’s many facets to a community of course, but as a non-white person with Native family members, I can tell you these are the stories as they truly are heartbreaking as they might be.

Emilys portrayal was still amazing, she really did act in that movie. Lily was amazing too, no doubt. But only one person can win. I think they chose Emily because she did a more high acting role while Lily was doing a "normal" drama movie. Btw only because you didn't watch it doesn't mean that it was inherently bad. The Oscars aren't about popularity

Completely disagree, Emma won fair and square. She gave the best performance. That being said Lily was and is an amazing actress and trust she’s gonna get one of those golden statues soon. Also in the end many actresses who get Oscar end up disappearing. Lily is fighting the chit in relevant well made products and she’s gonna hit it big in no time. Cruise, Pitt, Reeves, Amy Adam’s, Saoirse Ronan, have never won Oscar’s and they’re thriving!!!

She absolutely deserved the Oscar if she wasn't Sandra deserved to win too. I knew they were never going to award Lily Gladstone for two reasons, The first is because she represented a Scorsese film and Scorsese films have always been robbed of everything possible, and the second is because inclusion is only used by Hollywood when it suits them, their Lily film denounces hidden crimes.

Scorsese made a "Cowboy" movie that shed light on Indian culture and the losses created by the reality of who exactly the White colonizers were. Scorsese gave the microphone to the Native Americans to tell their story. Lily was gifted part of that microphone. I hope the truth to these events can continue to be told---the Truth.
