Here's to hoping it isn't a train wreck because I know what the breakaway jerseys. But who knows the Authentic jerseys could be good or a refreshing change. I just hope it isn't a breakaway with a fight strap.

I think they will be upgrading everything for this! Its their brand on the line after all. And the NHL Knows how much $ they made from jersesy. They dont wanna lose that income

I'm ready to be surprised by fanatics if they end up offering nice retail authentics. I don't have high hopes but we'll see, they could run with the opportunity.

I’m hoping that they will still have the cheap ones for casual people and some high end jerseys like the adidas for people like us. I think the material should be the same and just have one fanatics logo on the back of the shoulders like the adidas. I was adidas was still making them cause the jerseys are amazing

I know some who got the Adidas Jerseys for show then 2 Fanatics Panthers Jerseys a year apart for Ice Hockey . The problem they had both Panthers Jerseys the Red and gold didn't match one was a tad Darker then the other.

I still wish CCM would come back.

Of course Fanatics can make jerseys as good as Adidas if not better. The problem is their value relative to their price. The breakaway jersey is not bad. But it is SO bad relative to its price. And now Fanatics has the monopoly on all NHL jersey, they can make the same or even slightly better quality than Adidas but for sure they will charge at least 50% more. Hockey fans have been enjoying authentic level jerseys with lower price for a long time now. When comparing to NFL or MLB jersey, both are short sleeves with very simple to no logo design on the front, the NFL and MLB authentic jerseys are around $280 - $350. So right now, the Adidas primegreen long sleeve jerseys with intricated logo designs are a steal at its current price of $180 - $230 (ignored all promo and discounts). I dont see any future where Fanatics can match Adidas in both quality and price.

If anyone is familiar when Nike took over the contract to make the on-field jerseys for the MLB from Majestic, the on-field jerseys stayed the same. Even to the point that the jerseys were made at the same factory (ironically Fanatics are the ones that produce the MLB jerseys for Nike). The only difference was the company logo and placement changing. What I am hearing so far is that this going to be case at least in the near future with the on-ice jerseys. They will be made in same factory and have the same design to look of the jerseys with only minor differences. If what they are saying is true, then I'm not worried at all as long as we at least have the same quality in products at the retail level as we do now.

@@dn32579 I do. Because I remember shopping for them and remember thinking $300 and some change was too much. Now they are closer to $400. But I don't know where they are made. Or what factory it is.

Hope they get the sizing right. Fanatics apparel doesn’t fit well, and sizing is off. Hope they make a better quality jersey than the breakaway jersey, and the current Mitchell and Ness crap.

I was hoping for under armour but oh well it is what it is

I am cautiously optimistic after hearing they'll take over the factory in Quebec. We'll have to wait and see what comes out on the retail side.

The player's equipment will still be made in Quebec. Adidas would never sell us those higher quality jerseys. What we'll be able to buy will likely come from Indonesia again marked up even more expensive than it already is.

Not here to pump Fanatics tires, but I do have to say I think the logo work on their version of the the Reverse Retro 2.0 got an upgrade. Some of those crests aren't completely that trash woven material and they mimicked Adidas with some extra bevel (Seattle is an example; the red eye pops out). I would think if Fanatics were taking over, they would put their best foot forward.

I'm sure the on ice stuff will be great. where fanatics fails is in the fan gear, hopefully with a nice new contract they have a bigger qualtiy control team.

That’s what I’m thinking. They have a change to dominate the industry with cheaper jerseys for those who don’t want to pay a lot, and for us normal jersey collections who want close to authentic jerseys

I feel a little upset that Fanatics is making them but I was originally hoping that Nike would have done it because they have the money to produce high quality jerseys but that’s just my opinion but I hope Fanatics proves me wrong

AAANNNNDDDDD That's me DONE with buying NHL jerseys after the 2023/24 season!!! Fanatics ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!!! Expect jersey sales revenue to plummet though the floor from 2024/25.

I'm so afraid the NHL uniforms will turn into cheap and crappy uniforms. I will say the only slight hope I have is Fanatics whole deal that they make things for fans by fans. IF (and that's a very big if) they listen to fans and make an incredible quality product then this could be incredible! With that said my confidence in that happening isn't very high. If it does then this could be the best move the NHL has made! However I'm afraid this could be one of the worst moves they have made. Only time will tell. If Fanatics is smart in the way of jerseys, they will have 3 versions of jerseys available to the public. The three options being: Breakway Replica, Authentic Replica, Authentic On-Ice (MiC). That would be able to hit every part of the market and anyone who wants a jersey could possibly get one and the one that they want. Again only time will tell.

It would “hurt their brand” ??? Fanatics already have a terrible reputation for quality. I am going to get as many Adidas as I still can over the next year, then I am out of the jersey collecting game for a decade or so. My wallet rejoices!!

You must not be aware of how much they marked up MLB jerseys when Nike entered the picture. Which is what will happen here. So prepare to pay $100 more for the same product.

I get where you're coming from, Brendan. It's not in Fanatics' best interest as a company to fall flat on its face and embarrass itself with a lousy on-ice product. I fully expect it to continue to make a jersey that will satisfy the players. My fear is that on the retail side, 'quality' will remain the same at best and get worse at, well, worst. I don't personally own any Fanatics product but I've heard the horror stories and as a monopoly, and as long as just enough people and not enough people care, Fanatics really doesn't have an incentive to improve or change its M.O.

They do they the nhl (who wants to make money) sees a massive jersey sale $ drop. Jerseys are a huge income for the nhl. Of that dropped the nhl wouldn’t be happy

I absolutely love your outlook on this, and 100% agree. If adidas has the high end market share for jerseys right now, and then fanatics takes the entry level market share, then they can both make money. Once adidas is gone, then they can move into the high end market share as well. I'm not worried about what the quality will be, I'm sure it will be just fine.

I have a contact in the Jets organization and take this with a grain of salt but Fanatics will get rid of the mid tier jersey and only have Breakaway and On-Ice so $150 and $400+ Also the NHL owns the jersey system

@BW Hockey so Adidas currently uses the Adizero design and before that the edge system. The NHL in the contracts with manufacturers makes sure that the NHL can use the designs it makes like all the Reverse Retro designs and such are NHL property but also the system it self. The factory in Quebec that makes all the on-ice jerseys is owned and operated by SP and they also has a license to make jerseys with that system. So Adidas can still use the Adizero system if they want but they don't own it. That's why Fanatics can use it because they are using the SP factory that Adidas used

@BW Hockey so the Adidas jerseys at retail are made in a factory in Indonesia and is owned by Adidas. Fanatics will not be using that factory. From what I have heard is that the retail "Authentics" that Adidas sells (Indos) or mid tier jerseys are no longer to be made. There will only be Replica Breakaway and On-Ice Authentics (that will be made in Quebec) the prices should stay the same for Breakaway (that hasn't been decided yet) but with no mid tier anymore the on-ice will be mostly $400+ like Fanatics does with MLB where they have replicas and on-field Authentics (Fanatics makes MLB jerseys but puts the Nike logo on it)
