    Cheers for this mate! Have been experimenting with elastomers and doing some research, and after extended use, the rebound of the rubber seems to fade in correlation with the stress strain characteristics of the rubber... After a certain point, it becomes extremely difficult to hold consistent brake pressure, and the load cell fades away... the spring upgrade allows for the effect to not be as prominent, however, it trades exponential brake pressure for linearity... As I still like a stiff brake pedal, have ordered a blue, red and green (next stiffness) spring from the website, will update on this phenomenon when I receive the springs later this month!

    just got the springs... Brake fade is removed, have miles more confidence under brakes. Am able to be more precise and run my brake bias further back without the rear coming around. Am running the blue spring and red spring in combination, gives a very similar feel to the elastomers that come stock... If you are experiencing brake fade as a result of worn elastomers, this upgrade will fix that issue.

I've bought both springs and still waiting for the order to arrive. Edit: I've gotten my springs now and the blue one feels perfect, I like a stiff pedal but the stock one didn't give any feedback and felt like a wall, much better with the spring!

    I did a blue spring on my brake set up on a sturdy Next Level Racing GT rig and it's... Better. Does it feel like a hydraulic brake more? No. Does it feel like my Elise's brakes? Ehhh... Not really. Does it give more travel so it's more like a "street car" brake? Yes, which makes it worth it over keeping the stock setup which is like a rock. I didn't notice a difference in lap times so far, but the feeling is so much better.

    I replaced the middle elsatomor on my CSL elite load cell pedal with an aluminium tube because the elsatomors lost there rigidity over time. I like the pedal to be stiff with little movement. Your body can replicate pressure applied very easily in repetition but can not replicate travel anywhere near as easily. At the end the of the day the load cell only records pressure applied regardless of how far the pedal has travelled.

    Is losing rigidity a common thing for elastomers? It is a bit worrying that after buying pedals, I would have to shell out more money for replacement elastomers. Also, this sounds like Fanatec accounted for this and made those pedals too stiff out of the box, so it would ease in over time...

    I'm even using a spring-mod for my HE Ultimates and the last elastomer is just inside the spring as a spacer. But getting some unlinear resistance around the 80% mark is IMO rather desirable if it's not ACC, since tyres tend to start locking if going over, so 80% should be your 100% in most cases. In ACC there is an option in the brake-settings to add an upper dead-zone and get basically the same result.

  • @Rosaslav
    @Rosaslav Жыл бұрын

    Given that those springs are much cheaper than 3drap mod, it seems like a no brainer, assuming CSL pedals are a budget buy, so you want to keep the price low. Only thing I am worried about is longevity of those springs as spring tend to get "tired" over time.
