Lampard is a few years older than me but as a kid growing up in East London, I knew of Lampard in the youth set-up and used to watch him, Joe Cole, Rio Ferdinand amongst others and knew just like Harry that Frank Lampard and Joe Cole would become top players I couldn't see it in Rio at the time but he went to do amazing things too. Frank's shooting low and hard was what captured me cos my dad always taught me that and Frank had mastered it.

I love Harry Redknapp for this . I'm an Arsenal fan . But sticking up for a young kid like that is unbelievable . And how right was he . What a career he's had . For me he's ahead of Gerrard and scholes just for the amount of goals hes scored . Any midfelder he scored that many goals and has that many assists is number one on the team sheet . Goals win games and it's the hardest thing to do on the football pitch .

I was with you until you put him ahead of Scholes and Gerrard. I'm a United supporter and think they were all outstanding players but I wouldn't put Frank ahead of them, as fantastic as he was. The greatest unknown for Lampard I feel is that 'ghost goal' against Germany. If that goal had counted, and England had went onto win the game, I think his legacy would have increased a hell of a lot.

I remember watching this in 2010 before Frank won the Champions League, what the owner still wanted. People were STILL saying he hadn’t made it in the comments. He was runner up in the UCL in 2008 and later beat Bayern Munich at their home ground in 2012 to put this to bed. Not to mention the multiple EPL titles he already had. I think it is fitting that he also retired as Chelsea’s all-time record Goal Scorer’s considering the players Chelsea have had, and that he was a midfielder!

I remember his first PL goal at Oakwell on the opening day of 97/98 season. He came on as sub and scored the winner literally within 30 seconds of coming on. It broke my heart that day but what a career the man has had. Unbelievable footballer.

Rishi I’m definitely not a Chelsea fan but respect Lampard, and it will be good for the game if he’s successful as a manager. Great to see younger managers like Lampard, Solskjaer, Arteta at the helm of big clubs. And in frank’s case it’s good to see an English manager getting a chance.

Harry wasn't wrong was he. Tbh Majority of westham fans could see what a great player lampard jnr was & with loads of potential to become one of the best. It was only a small group of fans who gave lampard stick but in a small stadium everyone could hear the chants . I'm westham & I'm glad he achieved everything he did at cfc.

Well I mean the "fan's" got a point... after those those years all Lampard has done is won few PL titles a couple of fa cups community shields the europa, captained the side to win the Uefa champions league became Chelsea's top goalscorer. The only midfielder top be amongst the top PL goalscorers of all time. Worked under several mangers and styles and yet contributed goals and assists . And only came 2nd to a certain RONALDINHO in the balon d'or. Surely nothing compared to the legendary scott canham, btw what's he up to these days ?

Neale Bertram probably before being his uncle. I went to school with Frank and he used to play 2 years above us though he was in our year. He was in the school 1st XI at 14, in the school cricket team and got 7 As at GCSE I think!

Once a year I watch this video. Even Harry at the time, didn't know how true his statement was. One of the most profound predictions ever. Now, Frank was one of the best midfielders ever, a true Chelsea legend. But wait, he'll also go in history as one of the best football managers ever. So, when Harry said "He'll go to the very top", did he mean as a footballer, as a manager or both? Frank has 3 qualities that make him unique as a player and as a manager - enormous passion for the game, professionalism and very hard work...

I love how harry defended him to the hilt. Harry was fuckin spot on. Frank went on to achieve everything and more he expected. This is great though something that is missing from the top level modern game. These fans association meeting with the club are what keeps that heart and soul of the club with the local community.

Scott Canham retired in 2007 after playing in non-league for many years. Brentford was the last Football League club he played for.

Harry knew that Frank had his fathers blood, he knew what a ferocious trainer his dad was & saw the same in his son; added to that much more technical ability than his father at a time where technical ability is started to move ahead of physicality at the turn of the millennium. Harry knew exactly what was going to happen, incredible judgement of potential & ability. Visionary.

Totally agree. Bankrupted Portsmouth, relegated Southampton, broke all transfer rules while managing QPR in the Championship and spent a mint. Then broke all records in Premiership when QPR failed to win a single game away from home or even draw away from home.

At spurs he was using a team comolli bought for him (bale, berbatov and modric were all comolli signings, and VDV was a Levy signing). He had us playing great football but made terrible decisions in the transfer market (saha and neilson) and oversaw a complete collapse in our season to allow arse to take 3rd spot. With the team he had, we should've been looking at 2nd or 3rd and he squandered it and left us far weaker than when he took over (don't even think about talking about league positions when he took over because you'll look stupid...)

Good argument. But the job of a coach is "to get the best out the players he has available" as Joe Royle eloquently puts it. Spurs were 4 points adrift at the bottom of the PL when he took over bit.ly/1Snu0kC and he took them up the table and to the LC Final. That's fact. He then took Spurs into the Champions League for the first time in their history. And finished top 4 again the following year which earned him the sack. Spurs lost third spot and missed out on the CL place in that final year because 1. Chelsea won the CL and there was no qualification for 4th place. 2. Being linked with the England job resulted in the players letting him down because they stopped playing for a manager they thought was leaving. Spurs are a selling club and are unlikely to ever qualify for the CL again. They only qualified when Redknapp was there because he was a top manager. Keep hold of Harry Kane, Hugo Llori, Christian Eriksen and Mauricio Pochettino has the ability to prove me wrong! -JG

VISIONSPORT TV I think you are spot on mate. Harry was our best manager in our premier league era, but we all thought he'd be off to coach England. Then the vultures came flying in for him. It was one of the biggest mistakes in our clubs history. But as a fan what can you do? Just support the team and hope we catch a second wind in our sails.

Everything Harry said became true, Lampard went to the top, won the Champions League...

From a United fan Lampard was the ultimate professional. Top drawer player , played almost every game year in and year out. Never injured. Never in media for bad things. Fair play to him. Won the lot for the Rentboys. Great young side at West Ham. Rio as mentioned and Frank, Joe Cole and our very own United legend Michael Carrick. Matty Holland struggled with injuries but had a good career. A United fan too👍🏼

It just goes to show how Harry was so right. He was a brilliant player and now in management is showing that he can be a brilliant manager. Chelsea's loss Everton's gain. I am so glad he is the boss of my club.Well done harry you were spot on
