Older relatives of two constantly bickering protaganist children whose normal lives were turned upside down after a summer where their parents gave them to the care of another relative where male one finds a mysterious yet important object with ties to them that kickstarts their adventure and gets them tangled in a complicated mess that makes them the target of world ending scenerios (The Journals and The Omnitrix), they know a lot about the supernatural that covers their settings especially compared to others as they spend a good bit of their younger years researching and being involved with these. Despite their age and lacking the powers other inhuman entities they are extremely intelligent and surprisingly strong along with having access to enchanced technology (they have cool laser guns). A portion of their series are also dedicated to unravelling their mysterious history and they have to look after the twin kids as the older and wiser figure they take care of them over the course of a summer, mentoring them and protecting them from many extraordinary threats, becoming a father figure to them. Not that important but they both also picked weird habits as a result of their involment in innatural in pasts (Good examples would be Ford burning his beard instead of shaving it because its faster and Max constantly cooking rather strange dishes)
