Growing up in Skagit valley in the 70's between Burlington and Sedro-Woolley hwy 20 was the route outside my Dad's farm There was a 1958 Mac truck decked out in the most beautiful color of metallic brown with a gold leaf on the retractable radiator grill a chrome front end sheet went behind the head lights. The truck was used for logging and it was his personal ride to do shopping in. I read a story on him he was a highly admired trucker with the best safety record in the business and was respected in Canada as well. The truck had 3 mac dog idols on the top of the radiator 2 of them were chrome the middle one was gold in color. The truck has a 5 million mile plus record 5 engines each had 1 million miles logged in use.The trucker would sound his horn once in awhile as he drove past my Dad's farm. What a sight to see.

Movin on was my favorite show as a kid, actually all these shows were great. When I grew up I drove semis for 7 years. I was broke the whole time. I never made any money, but I'm still glad I did it!

It was called Movin' On, and starred Claude Akins and Frank Converse.

Missed out on The Peterbilt Tanker in Duel and oh the Pork Chop Express in Big Trouble in little China.

My bad,somewhat.......There was a 1964 351 Peterbilt in the movie Duel, also.....The gas station/laundromat scene, the school bus push, and the RR crossing push were filmed with a 351 Pete...all the other stuff was a 281 Pete....whew

The Bandag Bandit..... Wow. I had that drag truck and hauler when I was 12 years old.

These were nice to see and there were others like 'Moon- fire' w/ Chuck Napier and Sonny Liston driving Mack trucks, ' Duel' with Dennis Weaver and the ominous Peter- bilt w/ tank trailer. There was also an old movie from the 1950's ' Death In Small Doses' with Chuck Connors driving a White - Freightliner with a drom box & trailer. Actors Keenan Wynn and David Janssen were in a made for T.V.

Nice video you've put together! Love all the famous trucks of the "silver screen"! I own a '03 KW with the "Sonny Pruitt" paint scheme. A few people recognize it from the old TV show.

squach623 the Red Sovine songs aren't a bad choice! Now some people get off to C.W. McCall's "Convoy". The way he sings that you would think he was born in the driver's seat of a Classic Pete! BUT do you know C.W. McCall NEVER drove a Truck? That's right! A new Stevens Graduate fresh out of their truck school has more experience trucking than C.W. McCall!

ah memories wasnt much of a truck driver just drove for the canning factory haulin sweet corn at 90000lbs loaded had a 78 kenworth with a browning twin stick 24sp with a 3406 A cat straight pipes and hittin that jake loaded wow that fucker sounded nice you could hear that old beast miles away that old cat was rated at 380 hp and it out ran the 84 kenworth we had with a 13 sp fuller with a 3406 B at 400hp so ya I liked the 78 lotta fun to drive that old beast

@1968spawn The truck from Duel was a 55 Model 281 with a tag axle added to it. I never would of thought they would use a modified truck instead of a off the shelf truck for the movie but they did.

There is a BJ and the Bear KW running produce out of Salinas,CA, I see it very often on Hwy 101. Cool.

They bring bac memories.....

Needed the Pork Chop Express, the black and gold truck and Goliath from Knight Rider, and that really weird truck from the tv show Highwayman.

I recognised Rubber Duck's mack, Snowman's truck, and i think i saw the ones used in some of Bud Spencer's movies too. I'm not sure but i think the truck at 0:26 was the one used in the Movie called Fortress in 1992 www.imcdb.org/i327346.jpg or maybe it was rather a White Road Commander... but anyway it surely looks to me like the one that was used in the movie called Universal Soldier... i might be mistaken tho... anyway if anyone knows what were the trucks exactly in those movies then please tell me...thanks in advance... great pics by the way

Recognised only 'The Ducks Mack with can on the back' & 'The Snowmans Kenworth' But I'm English so may not have seen other US tv/films. One thing that the US do the best, and that's Trucks.. particularly '70s, '80s era Trucks..Kenworths, Mack, White, etc.. beautiful!!
