Me and my girl used to go out there and smoke and walk and talk.so peaceful.

I live right across the Savannah River from Sav in SC. There is a route Sherman took right through my county. In my family cemetery, Lebanon, 7 of my relatives were killed in The Battle of Rivers Bridge and during burial a little boy came running up the dirt road screaming Sherman is coming. My family all ran into the woods. Sherman rode up and saw that these men were soldiers from the battle and told his troops to bury them properly and gave them a 21 gun salute stating "these were brave soldiers, and brave soldiers deserve a proper burial!"

What an amazing cemetery! So much history. I hope to visit it someday. Thanks for the video, Chris.

Thank you for a lovely video. Several family members are buried here. My husband and I visit their graves when we're in Savannah. He likes to visit the graves then sit on a bench and look at the water. You probably know, Moon River was written about the Savannah River. It's too bad you weren't there when the azaleas are in bloom. It's even more beautiful then.

I have been so looking forward to when you would post this video...and you did not disappoint. Such an amazing place! Absolutely stunning! I hope to make it for a visit some day. Thank you so much for doing this....and I look forward to where you will be taking us in the future! God bless!

It is a beautiful cemetery! I love how the camera caught the light of the sun shining through the spanish moss. Wonderful video! I'll have to make sure I put Bonaventure cemetery on my places to go when I visit Savannah.

I adore Bonaventure! Was last there the third week in March. All the azaleas were at peak bloom. Stunning! Beyond words. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful cemetery! Such a sad story about little Gracie. I looked her up on Find A Grave and it shows that her parents are buried in New York. In the end it really doesn't matter where you're buried, but as a mother myself, I don't think I could have left my child there by herself. But I'm glad to see that her father had a beautiful statue made in her honor. And she's not forgotten! Thanks again for taking us along with ya!

I've been there, I agree you can get lost. I did. It took a while for my husband to find me. They say Savannah is the most haunted city in Georgia. I don't know. It's beautiful and interesting. It would take more than a few days to tour Bonaventure cemetery. That moss kind make it spooky. I just felt calm. Savannah has a lot of history and good food. I'd like to take my children. I have read that Bonaventure is one of the prettiest cemetery in the US.It is well kept and hauntingly beautiful.

I think I remember Johnny Mercer's music being used in the movie, "Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil". The sculpture for Little Gracie's resting place if precious. Can you find more artist commissioned sculptures in cemeteries? I always enjoy the videos where you feature those.

J Ro. You can see it at night. Shannon Scott takes people out at night. He is a great guide and can tell you so much about the people buried there. Check him out online. He isn’t expensive either. Tell him Sandra Brown sent you. He knows me. I have been to Bonaventure enough.

People will leave things as a sign they visited. May be a rock, or a coin, something like that. It’s probably just a custom to leave a rock at this one.

I live near Bonaventure Cemetery. It is beautiful especially when all of the azaleas are in bloom. We actually went to the cemetery to have prom pictures taken of my daughters group about 5 years ago. In the late 70’s you could go in at night. Some friends and I were going to see the movie Halloween when it first came out and my friends uncle took us to the cemetery before we went to the movie. He told us stories of someone being hung from a tree in there and scared the bajebbies out of me. I don’t think the hanging story was true but you never know in Savannah GA. The Colonial cemetery in the historic downtown area is beautiful as well. If you get back to Savannah check it out.

My fam is spread all over sadley my grandpa who i never met he died 11 years before i was born and my uncle are resting togheter would be my grandma and grandpa toghter but my uncle died 2 years before my grandma he was only 29 when my grandma died she was layed to rest on the new cemetery not even with here parents or nothing i feel sad i wish whe could all be togheter to when whe go but not gonne happen sadley

Nice video, but you haven't been able to buy a plot in Bonaventure for ten years. Occasionally, people who already have plots will sell individual graves, but that's the only way to be buried there now. And, it's 103 acres, not 160.

It's sad that the parents are not buried with her and he left her there by her self that's sad you think they want to be with her together

At 06:00 minutes in, it looks like a Native American standing in the middle of the tree like he is starting to materialize if you look close. Also he looks like he had a pony tail in back with what looks like a knife in his head. Maybe it’s just my mind playing tricks on me.💀👻☠️
