So inspiring to see that big families do it to. We will definitely do a conversion one day but for now we are slow travelling with our kids renting fully furnished places :)

TheKleinWay may I ask what kind of gas mileage you get with a school bus? I’ve tried to research this topic and I just get dead ends. There’s a lot of terms it uses in discussing gasoline/diesel consumption that I do not understand.

That mileage is dependent on your weight -- you're pulling so much weight with the refurbishment -- I think you could go for better mileage if that was your goal. He's a financial planner, so go figure! He knows what he is doing -- best financial advice: do without/make do/hold out for as long as possible. They may, in retirement, settle down -- whatever the best decision turns out to be in the financial climate at that time. I'm sure they'll do great. I'd like to see his client's faces when he tells them this news -- that they should ``do without.''

Beautiful bus!! Y’all did a great job! Kudos on homeschooling your kids too. We homeschooled our three children (they are all graduated now) . You won’t regret having spent this time together! There is so much they can learn outside of the traditional schools. Our children are all settled with good jobs now, and 2 of the three are getting married next year. So, dad and mom are hitting the road in July!

Thermal backing drapes will help with both heat & cold. You might have to shorten them, but they can make a difference. We use them in our regular house living room with the Southern exposure. There's also a paint type item that you can put on the roof that will help with the same issue. Many home improvement stores sell it. Good luck on your travels.

@@TheWhimsicalFamily Curriculums and various details may vary, but the basics are generally the same, I believe. When you arrive at a non standardized portion or step in the process, you would just include, " Laws vary from state to state. Please check with your chosen local board of education for the specific application." At the very least, a general instruction kit and outline would certainly give prospective homeschoolers a perspective to consider. Especially the TRAVELING FAMILY niche. There are numerous generalized overviews on homeschooling already available on-line and in book form. (My wife homeschooled her girls) But a "Schoolie Homeschooler" version *might* actually be a niche that would sell, considering the growth of the movement.

Raw LawGirl that would be nice. Most homeschool moms buy WAY too many books. I homeschooled back in the day and loved it. I would have absolutely loved schooling in a schoolie or out on the road! In all fairness, except for crafts, each kid’s homeschool supplies (books and all) fit into one tote (12 x 18 x 9h) that nested/stacked together so it would have easily been possible. I love the fact that you can stop when “life” happens and class for the day is on the side of a mountain or some random road side attraction.

When the "kidzzzzzes" get to be teens replace the beds with closets and a reading nook. Then... Why not buy a 10'x10' wall tent that has the additional closed in tent space in front of the sleeping room for play and daytime games, etc.. That is great space for teens. That would solve a privacy problem. They can still have closets and drawers inside. All those with kids that grow too big. This seems like a great solution. Not hard to put up and down. They can listen to their music outside in their tent and be outside and not under parents feet every moment.

This may have been addressed in the previous comments but it has been said that the tinting that is put on the windows of vehicles have very good insulation for windows. I can’t speak for that but it is often stated by van dwellers who noticed a significant improvement after having it done. It would certainly eliminate a large amount of heat and cooling loss. Though intuitively you would expect cooler temperatures because of the shade, but they also say it keeps the heat IN when it is cold.

Angelle Laboard I felt that too when watching; as well as multiple passively made points by the lady, that seemed to indicate she doesn’t like it as much as he does, perhaps subconsciously. As for clutter; leaving it out is an honest show of who the people (really) are IN the home - some people are messy. Some are not. Some like to ‘look like’ they are tidy/happy etc, irrelevant of if it’s true. If you genuinely cared about if it was tidy (and not your image ‘looked like’) - you’d tidy. Before making the video. It also looks like she thinks his card-holder idea, is ridiculous 😬🤫

Honestly I think you may be looking a little too far into it... lol. Someone else was recording and perhaps it was a last minute setup to make the video. 4 kids usually means lots of toys/extra clutter, regardless of whether or not you tidy. I think their bunks have windows judging from the outside. As far as how the woman was acting, I personally am really shy myself and wouldn't do great with a camera in my face lol so that could be what it was (:

Tiny Home Tours belongs to Chris and G, who also have a Vlog style channel as well, documenting their travels and now their own Off Grid Skoolie Build. If Rob and Robin, from THIS video, had their own channel (which I'm not aware of), I'm fairly sure that Kevin would most likely subscribe. Are you suggesting that Kevin is fabricating ? If you look closer, you will see that Uncle Rob, from the video, actually responded to Kevin.

I'm a teacher and have never heard the word "Kidz-iz". Maybe, it's a colloquialism from where she's from? (I know....I ended a sentence in a preposition.) But, perhaps she can learn to say, "Kids", since she's homeschooling.

This is such a fantastic idea I have three boys and me and my husband always traveled before we had our boys and still ended up moving around the country in the last six years. Literally packing up the car and just going. We love to move around and home school. We used to live in a fifth wheel but couldn't tow it so we ended up miserable in apartments. We missing having our own home and having the freedom of moving and exploring.

They were straight about things good and bad. He was a hoot and I mean that in a good way. And a lot of good information. I did think about the rust thing when he started. good parenting will instill good principles in their child or children so they grow an learn to love themselves, be themselves, learn the different stages of life and accept the fact that everyone does not peak or excel at the same time. hence the reason for fast bloomers and late bloomers . they would learn not to compare themselves with other peoples and the things they possess; but to be content with whatever it is that they have and use it as a stepping stone and a motivation to aspire and achieve greater things in life:)
