FAMILY OF 12 - GROCERY HAUL 🍅🥑 NYC 🗽 TRADER JOE'S & COSTCO

See what it takes to feed our family of 12 for a week! We go to Trader Joe's and Costco. We bring 5 of our kids along with us: Moses (age 2), Melody (age 4), Enoch (age 7), Chloe (age 9), and Anna, (age 11). I also checked out the Aldi by Costco. It's pretty small but I hope to get a bigger one by us! The Target in the shopping center is closing unfortunately but I think we are getting both a Target and Trader Joe's on 125th street in Harlem soon! That is actually closer to our house! We are going shopping on Tuesday Evening in Manhattan, NYC.
This Week's Meal Plan:
Wednesday: Chilaquiles, Dinner: Corn Chowder, bread an salad (Barefoot Contessa recipe)
Thursday: Baked potatoes w/ bacon, lettuce, tomato & cheese, Dinner: Stuffed Pepper Casserole (temecualblogs.com) & salad
Friday: Charcuterie board, Dinner: Jamie Oliver Chicken Curry w/ basmati rice
Saturday: Turkey Sandwiches w/ chips, juice & watermelon, Dinner: Bean Burritos
Sunday: Slow Cooker Chicken, Broccoli & Rice Casserole (from Kristineskitchenblog.com), Dinner: Nachos w/ ground beef & cheese
Monday: Tuna Melts, Dinner: Fettuccine Alfredo w/ broccoli
Tuesday: Quiche & Salad, Dinner: Beans, Mexican Rice & Salsa
Our Family:
Marc 46
Amber 43
Josiah 21
Pearl 19
Elijah 17
Naomi 14
Noah 13
Anna 11
Chloe 9
Enoch 7
Melody 4

I adore the juxtaposition between your healthy eating family who is adventurous with food but you do REALISTIC portions & recipes *unlike* some other big families in the same area who could in monstrous portions, serve junk food for literally every meal and don’t include/teach their children how to shop & cook. You both are doing an amazing job setting your children up for life long health. Kudos to you both!! Great job Mom & Dad! ❤️

Great shopping haul. I'm getting tired watching you shop at all three supermarkets and buy all that food for the week and haul it back home alongside meal planning for the week, finding each food item, supervise and mind the children along with vlogging everything. You must be super tired when you get home and then have to unpack everything and climb those steps. A great effort, enjoyed watching your vlog. You are all super calm and smiling and not at all stressed out like I would be in the same setting. You are all a great team. Also the staff in Trader Joe's seem to be really friendly and nice, so refreshing to see too.

Great idea going to Trader Joes first. I would love to join all of you for Dinner one night just to taste your delicious food you make. I'm in Indiana, so I don't think that's going to happen. LOL🥰I wish so many other parents would feed their children the way the two of you do. At least you know your children are getting the vitamins and nutrients they need. The new clothes fit Moses so well and he looks so Dapper like Josiah. Also, Moses is talking so well. I noticed you chose white corn. That has a lot better taste than yellow corn. Awww, that was so sweet of the man to remember Moses birthday and give him a little treat. I need to stop talking because I could go on and on about how wonderful your family is. Thank you so much for sharing your daily lives with us. 🤗

Every Aldi I’ve ever been into, big city or not, are small. They also don’t have a lot of help. So things don’t get shifted around n restocked , like in a normal grocery. They have excellent chocolate from Germany, their brand (it’s not Aldi, can’t think of it) so inexpensively! Do try their chocolates , like $2 for a huge bar. Also, don’t be fraud of their store brand items like chips etc. they are sometimes even better than name brand. Tried n true- I didn’t believe it.

I live where we drive distances for groceries and its dense like NYC. I am in canada. However, I think its a good investment to get collapsible coolers. Thats what I use because its a waste of time to drive home and leave again. Im not saying that is what could work for you but it could be worth the money if you're concerned about cold stuff. I have bought collapsible coolers from the USA because we legally need to use our own bags or purchase reusable (I hate it). However the USA has far better quality then we do here.

Actually, Aldie is a German company. It’s a grocery store. We have several in Philadelphia and it’s affordable groceries cheaper than Trader Joe’s and you could get a Lotta nice stuff in there so it’s nothing like a gas station.

Nope aldi isnt big anywhere. Yours looks about the size of ours. They are very small grocery stores but thry are cheaper than any other store. They carry mostly just their own brand and not bame brands. The produce varies but the one at ours is usually pretty good. It helps us afford all the fruits and veggies for our big family. They are nothing like a gas station store in middle America ( i leave in Nebraska). Id also suggest going earlier in the day just like trader joes is low on stuff later in the day.

You are absolutely right! She is an airhead if you ask me, she doesn’t take care of the kids she has. Besides that they are not rich and they don’t need another child to feed. I guess they will put their older kids out playing their instruments with a bucket 🪣 for people to drop money in. The kids are homeschooled and they are out doing this when they should be doing schoolwork.
