I am thrilled I found your channel. My mom is Filipina, and I was born at Clark Air Force Base. Dad was in the Air Force there. I wish my Mom was able to make one last trip to the Philippines to visit Angeles City, Quezon City, and my Lola's home in Tarlac. She passed away this past January. I have nothing but beautiful memories of the Philippines. Mom made it all the more special. I am sending you ❤ from Arizona.

How is your medical situation now? I mean medical in the US is so perfect in compare here in the Philippines, so how will be the situation incase you need medical attention?

We kept our US health insurance. Annual check ups will be in California. Our medications are from there. We get a year’s supply each time. In an emergency, it will be reimbursed.

Provided, you have US address, for Medicare enrollment. Suppose, you are retired here in Philippines, you should have savings, it's called self insured, enroll in PhilHealth, Senior Card and apply for Social Services, in any hospital, it's like Charity Care, and a good Credit Card with no foreign transactions fees. Also, Medicare required you to go back every 6 mos. to remain your Medicare active.

How about your social security pension? I know if your residence is overseas you have to change address to that overseas address, do you get your pension in pesos now?

Change the address while you are in US, or else, the SSS will stop your US pension in your bank account. Also, don't close your US checking account, but most of the US banks would like you to have electronic deposit, in order not to pay a fee, but check out there, shop around for wire transfer and ATM fee. But, if you want to have peso account, check BDO and PNB bank in the Philippines, you could open an account easily if you are dual citizen, those two banks I heard can receive pension from US. Check their website and call them. Better to apply in the Philippines for banking, if you could do it. Any changes, you have to go to website of US Embassy Manila, and inquire. Good luck.
