Same po tayo ng principle sa planting, Maliit lang house ko but I have in my backyard malunggay, kangkong, talbos ng kamite, alugbate and hydroponics lettuce. Same age bracket din po tayo, i opted for early retirement after 28 yrs of working in a Bank.

We can relate… we call it simple living as well. We’re from the Bay Area, lived there for 42 years, worked almost for 40 years, retired earlier at 58 and my husband at 59 1/2. We cannot go beyond our means because first and foremost as you know, we don’t get any income until we reached our 62nd birthday. So yes we have to live within our means and cannot be maluho. Though we live comfortably and furnishing our living space with higher quality of furniture and appliances because that’s what we’re accustomed to, we consider to just get an e-bike vs getting an suv to get around. We don’t see that as necessities. There’s things that we don’t go overboard on, like eating out all the time and giving generous tips. Now we have to live as locals so we have to watch our spending. Yes some people won’t understand our definition of “simple living” but we get what you mean… Thank you for all your vlogs and more power to your channel. Watching here from Imus City, officially retired here on 04/23/2024. Cheers!!! 🥂

But kung aabotan ka pag kumikita na sila good bonus na yon . That was nice of you po to say that kuya . 🙏 Meron po akong Kasabihan noon pa Obligation ng magulang palakihin ang mga anak pero hindi obligation ng anak tulungan and magulang pag May sarili na rin family pag tinutulungan mo magulang mo tawag doon pagmamahal. You help them because you love them and you appreciated ang ginawa Nila sayo noong bata pa. Ako naman po binibigyan ko parent ko monthly Nila at kung May emergency Pati inlaws ko. And we feel good about it. I’m a type of person I rather be a giver than taker. So far po I’m blessed sa parents ko dahil appreciative . But I noticed some parents one time Hindi mo napag bigyan parang ang damot mo na kung Ano Ano na masasamang sinasabi pero yong ang dami mong nagagawa bibigay hindi nakikita pera isang beses mong Hindi napag bigyan wala. Nakaka hurt ng feeling sometimes

Just have patience and extend our understanding to parents. Nagiging sensitive na din kasi ang ibang parents pag nagkaka-edad na sila. Nagiging matampuhin sila. But deep in their hearts, they love their children so much. We have to pray hard for them. GOD always listens. (And yes, we help our families because we love them and not because we are obligated. It feels good to be able to help) May God bless you ALL!

Try mo pigaan, lagyan ng kahit 3 or 6 na kalamansi kapag nagluto ng sinigang. Mas masarap ang lasa ng sabaw at nawawala ang lansa ng isda or karne.

Kids whoever you are. This couple are sharing their life journey which is their retirement. They are in the season of their lives. They worked hard while in the US and raising their family. They are not the only Filipinos expressing their journey. My husband and I acquired a condo unit in The Grove by Rockwell since 2016. We stay in the Philippines for a month. On the side we travel abroad mostly Europe. Inside our condo I have a sign “Live Simply”. Again whoever you are, my husband and I commute while we are in the Philippines but in the US we have a Benz SUV and Tesla Model Y. These couple and other retirees we speak the same language. We understand their journey. Louie boy and Gerlyn enjoy your time together. My husband and I are both thankful that we have this opportunity to do what you both did. Life is good and this is the fruit of our labor. Hope to bump with you guys someday.
