With the way this episode ended, One can only imagine what the show would be like if this was also the end of Atheist Brian. Because as people have asked throughout the years "How can Brian still be atheist when he's literally met Jesus?" well now people can ask the same question but with "After he was literally beaten up by God himself"

It is because Brian is a first-class Egocentric, proud to the point of no more power and who believes that he is the center of everything and that he is right in everything, it is basically his defense mechanism to not see the horrible person he really is. , only until someone defeats him (in this case God gave Brian and Stewie a tremendous beating, ok the last one wasn't necessary because he agreed to solve everything) and puts him in his place

Honestly Christian point of view here: Satan himself fell from heaven for just being so full of himself he wanted to put himself above god. Then when he got his ass beat he made it everyone else's problem. What Brian does in this episode literally isn't any different. With the notable exception of the asskicking setting him straight of course. While I'm certain it wasn't what they are going for it does show how he really is just THAT full of himself that he truly believes he knows whats best for the world (Despite being a boozy, womanizing opportunist) consequences be damned.

Actually kind of a shame Seth didn't go further then this and show Brian's idea of the "ideal scientific world" is as fundamentally flawed as he thinks one with Christianity is. After all, for better or worse religion drives the collective morality of society. While it is often supressive when abused by the power hungry it also curbs reckless immoral science if for no other reason than fear of a response from God.

South Park's take on the issue is much more grounded in reality. The Family Guy people just seem to be cheerleaders for their side. "Everyone on our side always has good intentions." That's adorable. More of a "Western" perspective than an American one, but I agree. The writers think their gripe with the Abrahamic religions is all the world's struggle. The same kind of self-centered mindset they no doubt accuse followers of those Abrahamic religions of having. I bet there are plenty of Hindus who would say, "What the hell does this have to do with us?"
