The cutaway gag at 1:49 is great. It’s fast, effective, and not a single drop of blood. I find it funnier that the road runner just ends up looking like a messed up plush toy as opposed to a giant red mass.

This was back when Lois used to be a good decent mother and when Meg was hated & abused a lot less. This is how Family Guy should still be today!

It looks like you've stopped watching Family Guy for awhile now because the Meg abuse has stopped post season 15 after the episode "Peter's Sister". The family doesn't really pick on Meg anymore and the jokes at the character's expense is treated the same as it would be for any other character.

@@gibbs615 They really haven't though. Like she hasn't been antagonized by the family themselves. I can only recall one time post season 15 which was when Stewie called Meg out for Pinkberry to distract his steroid bees that then attacked her but besides that, Meg's treatment from the family has gotten better like that episode where she does the Winter Olympics. And you never hear the "Shut Up Meg" line by Peter anymore.

I highly recommend checking out Dr. Gabor Maté's books (and videos online). Also, on a side note, Cobain was most likely murdered. Check out Soaked in Bleach. Finally, I agree with your general sentiment to of course do everything you can with what you have, but I'm just trying to share a crucial factor in this equation: having empathy. Ironically this was Cobain's most emphasized message in his famous note (that was meant for quitting the music industry).

I remember in 7th grade I had a strep throat and I spent practically the entire week away from school binge watching pre-revival Family Guy on DVD. I was so sick I barely had enough strength to change out the DVDs and would frequently sleep while the menu just rolled on. It really brightened a pretty miserable week.

Wow I have almost the same story except I caught it on TBS. They had like a 2 hour block in the middle of the day, that’s how I got introduced to the show. It was the funniest show I had ever seen at that point; it blew away everything, the competition wasn’t even close. By day three, I was actually happy I got to be home watching this weird new show. As soon as I got better, I bought all three seasons. Those first three were magical

Seasons 1-4 will remained uncontested by any adult animated program

Back when Family Guy was enjoyable to watch, the Griffins weren't miserable psychopathic assholes, and jokes were actually funny.

The joke of Peter being a skeleton was actually really funny. Man, I never watched old family guy but it seems hella good.

While there were a few psychotic tendencies raring their heads even in the first two seasons, Peter at least loved his family most of the time, and did not actively harm/maim his friends.

It all made sense from early seasons in a way. Peter became an alcoholic and lost brain cells and got repressed memories. Louis got back to her promiscurity roots. Chris got the nudy mags and started whacking and getting lazier but still smart or at least witty. Meg was insufferable and got her just deserts. Peter even says it a bit during early seasons threatening her. Brian booze and culture changing. Plus he tried coke and got some spark back into his life. Stewie said in that real life griffins "wouldn't it be weird if i turned out to be a homosexual". Also forgot about killing Louis for being a baby i.e. maturing a bit. The rest of the dominoes fall after that.

I love how neighbors are actually active in the show besides the main 3 friends during the early seasons

@@toazel8679 seth hasnt had any involvement in literally any of his animated shows tho. Beyond voicework obviously American dad basically just owes its success to its specific writers, producers, storyboard artists, directors ect
