Family, Farming and being the World’s Best Prop!

As 2022 winds down to a close, it's time for another episode of the Open Side! Leinster Rugby and Ireland veteran prop Tadhg Furlong sits down with Christina Mahon at his farm along the southern Irish coast. The pair talk about life growing up on a farm, playing Gaelic Football and Hurling, his rise through the ranks in rugby his love of Crash Bandicoot on the Playstation and of course Ireland's legendary win on New Zealand soil in 2022!

Christina does a good job with these kinds of 1 on 1 interviews! I've always seen her on tv but this was a different side to her than pitch side with the other pundits. @worldrugby would love to see more of this kind of video from your organization with players from all over the world highlighting the characters in rugby.

Love this fella. No bullshit. All his heroes were Munster legends. He would have fit into the Munster setup like a glove.

Wonderful interview, Tadhg a humble man and great Wexford, Leinster and Irish hero. He gives so much back to his community and the youth of New Ross & South West Wexford. Keep being you Tadhg truffle farmer & chicken goujon connoisseur😅😅

Biggest thing - why is that only 11 min ? It could easily have been an hour . Tadgh was relaxed and interviewer was very good

Great to see all the bitter Boks in the comments. Made my day. Hon Tadhg and fair play Christina, looking well.

Excellent interview. Intelligent questions, for a change. Open, honest and funny responses. World Rugby should do more of these.

Everyone have a read through the comments to spot the South Africans. I swear, they have to be party to every online post. They mirror their coach Rassie in their negativity. Despite winning the World Cup 3x they always act like they are they are forgotten men. 'What about us' they ask, as they contribute another negative post online. Someone told them they can only be good at rugby...and they believed it. Insufferable. Where are the decent Saffa fans? I know they're out there, somewhere.

Conducting a good, natural, flowing interview is more art than science but she does a very good job of it.
