3. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Um Ahmad, displaced from Gaza City:
"Here we are completely dependent on the charities. We do not cook in the tents, thank God. Without these charities we would find all the displaced people, including us, in a miserable situation. But if (the crossings) are closed, famine will occur."
4. Various of workers distributing food to people
5. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Um Hamza Farahat, displaced from Gaza City:
"We depend completely on these charities. Sometimes we have no money, and sometimes there is nothing available, so we depend on these (charities) approximately 90 percent. Therefore, if the aid stops arriving here, we do not know at that time where to go and how to act."
6. Various of dozens of people standing in queue to get food
7. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Um Hamza Farahat, displaced from Gaza City:
"Of course (aid) is not enough, and we do not eat 90 percent of it, because our children got sick, suffered from gastrointestinal diseases, and became malnourished because of canned goods. They are useless, and it's beans and peas all the time, its the only thing that they distribute to us."
8. Various of workers filling pots with food
9. Various of people receiving food
10. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Hasan Al-Shafei, displaced from Beit Lahiya:
"Currently, for food, we depend primarily on charities, because there is no work and in the market there are no food supplies except very simple things, which does not meet a person’s need. So, we depend on charities but if charities stopped, of course we will return to what we were before, no food, instead of eating three meals, we eat one meal a day."

STORYLINE:
Scores of people in central Gaza stood in line in front of a charity to get some food for their families on Friday.
Crowds gathered in line in Deir al-Balah, a city in central Gaza, to receive cooked meals distributed by charity workers.
Heavy fighting between Israeli troops and Palestinian militants on the outskirts of the southern city of Rafah has left crucial nearby aid crossings inaccessible and forced more than 110,000 people to flee north, U.N. officials said Friday.
Charities run by local agencies as well as the World Central Kitchen were offering meals of rice and beans for families.
With no supplies entering through border crossings, food and other essentials were running critically low, aid agencies said.
According to Georgios Petropoulos, an official with the U.N. Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Rafah, The World Food Program will run out of food for distribution in southern Gaza by Saturday.
"Without these charities we would find all the displaced people, including us, in a miserable situation" said Um Hamza Farahat, a displaced Palestinian from Gaza.
"Our children got sick, suffered from gastrointestinal diseases and became malnourished because of canned goods. They are useless, and its beans and peas all the time, its the only thing that they distribute to us.", she added.
Aid groups have said fuel will also be depleted soon, forcing hospitals to shut down critical operations and bringing to a halt trucks delivering aid across south and central Gaza.
Israel says the nearby Kerem Shalom crossing - Gaza’s main cargo terminal - is open on its side, and that aid convoys have been entering. It said trucks carrying 200,000 liters of fuel were allowed to enter the crossing Friday.
