Are you making the drawers out of 3/4" plywood? If yes wouldn't a 1/2" be much lighter? thx

These are dope. Would you consider making a drawer style that levers out and away like on other kitchen drawer setups? That way when you lift the lid off it's still connected and still holds items on it
