That’s a old buck your dad shot he probably wouldn’t get any bigger. He might have even bean going backwards. You can tel he is old by how close the antlers are to the scull . Every time they brake of and re grow they lose some of the petical and get closer to the scull . What where his teeth like ? That is also a good indicator of age

this is only a young buck, young bright looking animal and only 1st or 2nd antler set with a palm. teeth also showed it was young(no wear etc)

Right o m8 I really don’t think the culler of a fallow deer tells you anything about the age . They come in many different culler variations from white to black . They also have a light culler coat in summer and get darker in winter. You can tell it is old because the coronets are almost part of the scull . But I’m no expert

Emrys Plane yeah sorry i meant it has a bright young looking face not talking about the colour coat on it. Coronets much higher in real life. Video makes it look otherwise

@@DustinHuntingNZ I'm sure they weren't all buggered mate, just trim around the shot, plus you have the neck and ribs that make great sausage and salami meat

Ye dont seem to know much about fallow stags ? At 9/53 was a nice 3 to 4 year old stag. If you had given him another 2/3 you would have a fine stag to put on your wall but alas no.

williecosgrove they shoot the deer with the choppers there and other people hunt there so he most likely wouldve got shot if we left him
