Fallout - Captain Maxson's Diary

In Fallout: A Post-Nuclear Role-Playing Game, you can encounter the audio diaries of Captain Roger Maxson, the founding father of the iconic Brotherhood of Steel faction. They're described as audio-diaries but in-game are only seen as text.
Using auto-generation through ElevenLabs, I've made a version of the diaries along with some sound-editing for ambience.
Voice is from ElevenLabs, Fallout originally directed by Tim Cain and written by Mark O'Green. Metallic Monks track by Mark Morgan.

It's AI and people feel weird about it which is valid. Although funnily enough this is the most ethical of my Fallout videos.
It’s probably for the best that the world ended. If the US learned about a desertion of that magnitude then it probably would’ve made Waco look like a fucking tea party.

You have to wonder at the state of things when soldiers start shooting the scientists they're there to guard. It's abundantly clear that things were going to Hell, or had gone to Hell, everywhere.

By that point the US was falling apart already. If the Great War hadn’t happened, the whole thing would have descended into a massive civil war

@@SongsandActs By the time he announced his desertion, the president hadn't been seen in public in 6 months. The US was effectively leaderless and coasting on it's own inertia. He got no response, because the war was already coming.
Maxon’s line has been going a damn long time. And with the show telling us that either way the brotherhood was left standing at the end of 4. It’s safe to assume it’s still ongoing.

I think Maxson fears another exchange, but I believe there was just the one day. The US and China presumably destroyed each other enough that no one could retaliate.

This is great! I was just thinking the other day if there was ever a Fallout Remaster that it should include voiced logs in addition to the regular text. Maybe voice ZAX in the Glow too. Otherwise faithful to the original game.

For sure. I have no voice acting talent at all haha, so while I'm not wild about AI its nice hearing this stuff spoken. I'd love to hear the actual Master actor perform his audio log though, and it would be great to get a real actor voice Maxson.

@@czarnakoza9697that’s all I wanted from the TV show to show the dark grittiness of the fallout world but everything is just humor now when fallout is extremely dark with humor in it.
Is the facility he was referring to The Glow?

That's an interesting question. The research centre he mentions is The Glow. He doesn't elaborate about what the facility is. I assumed it was Lost Hills but then why didnt he just say the families had gone to Lost Hills? I assume they survived though considering that the Brotherhood kept going.

Dude this shit is awesome, i wish there was more content like this especially around fallout lore, i know people dont like AI i dont either but i think when its for this type it's acceptable or atleast i hope so and you did an amazing job with how the AI speak and its emotions 🐔🩷
