    sided with Rahmani in the first half, Shin earned my respect when he threw himself on a bomb to save one of his troops, and that wright clown really grinded my gears. ended up sticking with rahmani because her crusade aligns closest with Maxson's original purpose for the brotherhood while shin would simply repeat the isolationist failures of most other chapters. still it was a tough call and the decision didn't sit with me 100%, which is a great feeling to have in a situation like this, really felt immersed in the story, hope fallout 5 manages to do the same whenever it comes out.

    It's the exact opposite for me. I agreed with shin on most things, he stuck to the brother hood code. At the end however paladin made a good point, I spent 30 mins thinking it over then decided to side with shin because one good choice doesn't override paladins constant stupidity.

    @@Elnegro.. i disagree with the assertion she's going against the brotherhoods mission to be honest. the brotherhood's mission is threefold at this point, Collect Technology, the stated intention to use said technology to help the people of the wastes (At some point) and the elimination of the threat of things like the Scorched. with the collecting technical data mission the Vault 76ers undertake the new Appalachian brotherhood is achieving the first one even in these early days, (even if the current initiate heavy nature of the chapter precludes much in the way of sending patrols and expeditions to obtain them otherwise) her stance on the second is more practical and true to form than "Horde everything and blow the bunker sky-high if a wastelander so much as breaths near the keyboard" and the Daily ops and various outposts scattered across the wasteland are present in both endings, speaking to the commitment of both sides to the last goal. honestly while her little stunt with the transmitter and refusal to communicate with the elders back home are failures of her personal mission, the overarching goals of the brotherhood are better served with her than with Shin. plus, I let shin live, so the elders are getting that report they wanted one way or another.

    I get Rahmani and her outlook on things, but it's premature. This Brotherhood chapter only just arrived and barely has their foot in the door. They lost half their team crossing the US, they are in no position to help anyone. They need to continue to build up their own forces and establish basic rapport with the major factions, or they are going to end up like Taggerty's squad. Then, and only then, should they be expending ANY forces to help anyone. Rahmani's problem is that she wanted everything her way, immediately. Damn the consequences. From the sounds of things, she has always been that way. That is the core of her personality. It's why the California chapter approved her expedition anyway. Shin's problem is that he has trouble forgiving himself. Apparently he didn't always have a stick up his a**, both Rahmani and him made a bad call, and he holds himself to blame. That can be treated with time. At the end of the Story, This Shin is already very different from the Shin we first meet. That's good, that's progress. And his ideals make sense. To a degree. But with our player character and lead scribe Valdez there at his side, the Brotherhood could be a very effective force that not only helps its neighbors, but is also able to help itself.

    Helping out people in your area, will net you resources, allies, and information, which is necessary in building rapport, numbers, and security. The more you aid the local populous, the better your perceived, and the easier it is for you to grow. Help a group out, and people within that group are more likely to join in your cause, share local knowledge with you, and trade necessary goods. Hiding in your bunker as the world falls apart around you, only makes your job harder, and your enemies stronger.

Given the previous Brotherhood chapter in Appalachia was slaughtered when they were separated it hardly bodes well. • @johnpenguinthe3rd13

    @johnpenguinthe3rd13

    Жыл бұрын

    @@LolSho0orTs In Fallout 76, there is a cult in the game called the Cult of the Mothman. They are spread out in various locations (one of the most notable locations in their large Church which is within the forest area a few "miles" away from Lewis and Sons Farming Supply that's in west Appalachia). Long story short: they are FREAKING CRAZY!! Nellie (the young scientist) has a cultist dagger on her (the same exact cultists daggers the Cult of the Mothman members have) and she uses that to attack the player if they decide to kill the scientists. It was explained by one of the other scientists (the older female, Dr. Farha) that she originally met Nellie when Nellie broke into her place (sometime POST-war) and started scavenging for items, but then Nellie had a great interest in Farha's science notes (which led to Farha "adopting" Nellie and teaching her about science and Nellie eventually becoming a scientist under Farha and Blackburn). So... Where did Nellie originally come from? Due to the type of dagger she has, she definitely originated from the cult. However, she most likely met Farha at a young age and fell in love with the science stuff she had read and wanted to learn how to be a scientist, so she picked being with Farha (Nellie also mentions how no one liked her before meeting Farha, so very high chance that Nellie's behavior was so abrasive that even the other Mothman cultists were getting fed up with her. Granted, Mothman cultists tend to have very hostile personalities to begin with). However, cult members, even disloyal ones that break away from a cult at a young age, are still going to hold on to VERY bad habits. Mothman cultists do NOT hold human life in very high regard. Hell, the player has a higher chance is being able to negotiate with Blood Eagle gang members than they do with Cultists in the game (I don't think it's possible to negotiate with the cult members, they just instantly attack when they see the player. Blood Eagles can at least be talked to during rare occasions and a FEW times peaceful agreements can be made with them. Blood Eagle leader Tally Lang in Vault 96 being a prime example). So... Due to Nellie's upbringing, this would explain why she did NOT give a damn about all the people that were killed off during those experiments and she had such a warped view on the entire thing. Because of her cult of the Mothman type morals (A.K.A: she doesn't give a damn if people die during one of her experiments. Hell, she most likely ENJOYS it if someone dies or mutates from her experiments), there is a high chance that if the player decides to spare her and brings her back to Fort Atlas, she is going to do something horrible when someone isn't looking in order to carry out some crazy experiment she has in mind (EX: she might release FEV in some weird way on some Brotherhood member without them knowing so she can see what happens as part of her experiment). VERY hard to trust someone like that.

    Gonna be real here. Knight Shin is right, but his methods are... jerkass. Dr. Farha is the only sane scientist in the group who legitimately regrets her actions. Doctor Jain is a very smart-stupid person who sooner or later will go back to researching FEV. Nellie Wright is freaking evil and should be immediately put down for the safety of everyone. Put simply only 1/3 is worth saving. Also, due to most of us having joined MODUS in the game by now he's justified in not trusting us due to us being Enclave. In fact, I think he might try and kill us during some of these missions if we just came out and told him that. So yeah... he's got a point. It's just that... at the same time I would rather we just cap the two bad scientists and imprison the last one for R&D stuff. There's a computer there and although I'm only learning the language that I play FO76 with (German), I think one of the options was "Let the virus loose" or something. I wonder what happens if one chooses that. I only checked out the research data and personal logs there. I also wonder where Rahmani went. What group "fits her ideals"? Responders? Or... the Enclave? I let her live, so I wonder where will I see her in the future and other players will see what there instead of her...

    Thank you so much for this. I sided with Ramani and really wanted to know what would happen if I chose Shin, without having to choose him in game! I didn’t kill him though. He just left hinting he’d be back (with the boys probably😯) I wish there had been an option to incarcerate the scientists and no option to kill either Ramani or Shin because we worked with both of them. Killing either shows a lack of humanity. I don’t think my/our character is like that. Really good to see, thanks again.

    So personally with my background being a National Guardsman, I almost want to side with Paladin Romani, but I always side with Knight Shin, since his vision of the Brotherhood has always been what I align with. I also just don’t like the way Romani speaks to people, I’ve always seen her as a bit of manipulator to get what she wants. While Knight Shin has nearly always been direct, barring his trauma with what happened to the settlers (which is understandable imo)

    It will be interesting to see what, if anything, happens farther down the line. Having Shin at the helm instead of Rahmani should defiantly have a different impact on Appalachia.

    BoS always had eternal conflicts about prioritising Technology and Humanity. West Chapter were more for hoarding tech than saving humanity, they would take from humanity regardless of the circumstances. The east ended up helping humanity for couple decades after events of fallout 3, because their goals aligned and shared a common enemy. Up until fallout 4 where they became too isolationist, attacked none humans whether they were hostile or not. And killed or just stole tech from those who said no to them, which were your average human settler. They lost their humanity and compassion as a faction eventually. Shin's choice would be what the brotherhood west chapter would expect their soldiers to do in that situation, interrogate, take what knowledge they can, take out those who would be a threat to the brotherhood and in this case because the scientists created the mutants they are too dangerous to be kept alive and it's not something BoS would want in their new world order. And yeah, experimenting and kidnaping settlers is f***ed up. Both choices in the end would not be bad as long you let Shin or Romani leave to go wherever, depending on your choice, but that is my opinion about it. I wouldn't execute people, as a person in real life I don't agree with the death penalty. Full, natural life imprisonment in a highly secured prison would be just for this sort of crime. If I side with Shin, I will not be killing the scientists.

    I'll be honest: First time I did this to unlock the achievement for completing the quest, I just couldn't bring myself to kill Blackburn's co-workers and took Rahmani's side. My paternal grandfather served in the U.S. Army after the Korean Armistice was signed, and despite all of Shin's boasting when it came to securing the Hellstorms during the Steel Dawn quests, my bleeding heart is always to sparing the lives of NPCs, no matter if it is Fallout 76, Skyrim, or MGS 4 with the Beauty and the Beast Unit. Shin let his own guilt and hatred blind him to the truth, and in the end, I had no choice but to let him return home to New California and pray Elder Maxson gets him to see reason behind Rahmani's decisions instead of having the successor to Taggerdy's Brotherhood be dishonorably discharged for treason.
