Fallon Fratone VS 6’2 205lbs Brown Belt | No Gi

Hey All!
This week I decided to change it up a little and do a no gi grappling video! If you guys like no gi, let me know and comment below! If so, I'll try to film more of these. This video is a lot of leg attacks since both of us our brown belts in BJJ. In this video, my good friend and training partner, Zach let me film one of our rolls. He is 6'2 and 205lbs, but his jiu-jitsu is very technical still even though he is a bigger guy. He's definitely a fun match-up to watch. Hope you guys enjoy it!!!
Xoxo,
Fallon

Hello Fallon, My name is Melissa. I'm a friend of Joe Treffiletti. He told me all about you, and I just love your videos! I did Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for 11 years until I was in a car accident and injured my left shoulder. I am now 28 years old. Keep doing what you do! You are amazing!

Very fluid back and forth from your part chaining techniques one after the other. However amazing self control of the guy to keep his ego at bay. He didn’t used strength to escape any position and hardly pull any attack apart from a knee bar. He didn’t force anything and give you space to work. Good job both.

I love this roll but ... lol.... The rest of the story is that he isn't going as hard as he would with a male and he is being very conscious of hand placement to be respectful (which I completely understand). I do however really enjoyed the roll, the transitions and athleticism is outstanding. Most people don't realize just how taxing and tiring it is to roll for as long as you guys did. I will end this comment with this, ladies, if you see yourself looking up at a man like this that has bed intentions, don't think you can take him but putting him in a submission. Kick him as hard as you can in the sack and get away as far and as fast as you can.

The chick will benefit cuz she gets to work at 80%+ v a much bigger opponent so the way he is rolling with her will def benefit her at least which should be the case when ur rolling with someone this much smaller. If he goes any harder he smashes learns nothing himself and she won't benefit either just get worn out and injured and smushed. This guy wuld smash 180lbs Male HOBBYists blues purples if he went hard lol and the 180lbs males wuld learn nothing really. That's why training is training and it doesn't matter who wins cuz ur a lLoser if u are trying to win in a gym setting.. but sadly most ppl don't get that in the gyms. @@REXAZOR I guess my gym is different. The first time I rolled with a woman at my gym I dialed back out of respect. During the roll she told me to knock off the BS. I didn't know what she was talking about and thought that maybe I touched something and she was bothered by it so I in turn got even more careful. End result was that she taught me a lesson and told me once I tapped that the women that roll with men do so because it is a man and they want to learn to deal with the strength and weight difference and the ones that don't will politely decline the males and roll with other women. Now, as I said in my original post, I understand why he went 40% and was very careful with his hand placement. The rest of the story portion is because there are a lot of stupid people that would see this and think that this would be a real world result. Her athleticism and ability is absolutely top notch and I enjoyed every minute of this video. I get where you are coming from and respect it but my comment is my opinion and something that I though needed to be said, not because I think she is presenting a false representation of skill but because it seems that people need to have it said to them.

I don't know if they are doing this on purpose, or if it really is what they are saying it is. Strength is always used in every single high level bjj match, so it is crazy to me, to see these guys never use it. Using strength isn't the issue, its when to use it and in bursts. Where are the flash bursts of strength and speed? I have seen this issue with many people in general when they are nice at the gyms. People don't go as hard and give them a false sense of skill. Its actually dangerous for them in the real world.

He is going extremely easy. That Kimura slide out from half guard never would have happened if he was trying. The wrong leg is trapped for that to work. When the bottom leg is trapped, the person can slide to your back in an easy transition, or turn and follow a single up and hide the arm while pressing down. It is a great transition to use a Kimura to pass a half, WHEN you have the far leg trapped and use the close (body side leg) to pressure the half/slide the trapped leg out. That transition was backwards, and only worked because he just sat there and let it work. This is not to take away from a nice roll around, and part of rolling light is letting some things go...but I tend to have a list of "mortal sins" that I do not let people commit even light rolling in the sense of letting them work. he let a mortal sin slide there.

Ehhhh … this was surprising to me, which is what I think this type of content was made for. - At first I’m like “okay this dude is big, in shape, and a brown belt. She better be a beast.” - Then they start rolling and I’m like “They aren’t even going quarter speed and he’s letting her have everything for the views.” - Then a slick ass knee bar comes out of no where, and he escapes it, only for her to set up another knee bar. - My man takes the back a couple times but isn’t being aggressive with it, gets a lazy anaconda, and then bazinga, she’s got a solid arm bar, and she ain’t playing around with it. - At one point, late in the rolls, I feel like he has to use quick bursts of speed and strength to keep her in place. Conclusion: This kid is the real deal. She’s slick with it, technical, and hides her setups to knee bars pretty well. I had to rewind a couple times to see where she was going with them. No, she’s not gonna smoke a 6’2 250 lb brown belt, but she gave him a good look.
