I bet a thousand people would drive right by that ringneck snake in the road. I still don't know how you spotted it. Your eyesight is beyond 20/20!!!!! Anyway, keep up the great work. I am a subscriber, and absolutely love your videos!!!

Ditto! Great eyes Noah! 👀
I have been herping (Central N.C.) for over 50 years and am so glad I found your vlog, you do a fantastic job. How you spotted that ringneck in this episode is beyond me - amazing. Through the years I have often wondered how many snakes I simply walked by and didn't see even though I was looking...
Been watching you for a year now. I love your passion for these creatures and your conservation efforts. Thank you for the education too. You do a great job!! Really enjoy seeing what you do.
I've watched all your videos man, I gotta admit, they're very interesting and informative.... keep up the great work 👍
Some boys found a snake while we were camping and I have never ran so fast to find it, we were in a rattlesnake area and i was a little scared it was a rattler- Nope! A tiny AZ mountain king!! I scooped her up cause she was in the road and showed her to the boys (with the whole 'I know what I'm doing don't ever pick up wild snakes' talk) and then she did the CUTEST thing ever... She bit me. Twice. It was absolutely ADORABLE!!!
Anyone else start singing "Copperhead Road"
Beautiful horridus. Love what you do bud. Plan to join patreon after payday. I’ve been herping on and off 30+ years and your videos have inspired me to get back into it heavily and considering starting a channel. Thanks again!!
I always get so excited when I say u have a new upload, never thought I would be a fan Of herping KZread channels
Pygmies are a great looking snake. I cannot understand why anyone would be afraid of these little rattle snakes.
Love you're videos. Wouldn't mind a video for tips on where you look for hiking spots or natural flips (rocks and logs)
me and my sister love snakes🥰
Love the vids
Love watching your videos…keep searching and filming and stay safe👍😎
Another awesome video Noah! I loved 💕 that baby ringneck! I wish I could find one like that. Because I have been watching you for so long I am able to name most of the snakes before you say what they are! I enjoy your videos so much and I thank you for teaching me/us so much! Have a great night/day and I can’t wait to see your next video!!! 😄💙🐬🐊🐍
Its great you know your snakes for many of us its sometime difficult to separate the veneous ones from the non poisonous ones. Some look so similar
Excellent as usual man
Found and laid hands on my first rough green snake last Wednesday. For whatever reason they're super elusive in central Alabama.
Your vlogs always fascinate me, we don't have the variety of herping here in the UK you do.
Come Herp in Mid-Indiana.
How on earth did you see that from a moving car?!??!
found a common brown snake yesterday, thought of your videos. cute guy, no more than 8 inches
13:15 it looks like there is a snake in the road lol
Have you ever been on the glorious Roller Coaster called "Copperhead Strike" at Corowinds? It's an homage to the cool snake?There is also a good one called Diamondback at King's Island. The Diamondback in Cincy is located in the Western portion of the park.
I hung out with a scarlet snake for a couple of months, not once did I see it open it’s mouth.
I think you ran over a snake at 13:14. Great video as always

Some tips for road cruising.., in a desert (Great Basin) area?
Sick!
My boys really enjoy watching your videos. They mentioned a site or link to buy T-shirts, yet don’t recall the video it was mentioned. Is there a link or could you give me the info to find the website? Thanks.
What’s your recording setup? Great shots at dusk
How many hrs a week do you spend herping?
is it a king snake
Very nice pygmy in the end. Yes, I remember others that were much more vibrant, but this is good as well. Also, could this little ringneck have been disturbed by something? Why else should it be dispersing on the road instead of going parallel to it? They don’t normally move like this in open areas. The scarlet snake was too little when you’re showed it. I imagined them as larger.
What was that at 13m13s?
They should be called Wrinkly Rat Snakes 🤣

Wrinkly? More like "kinkly"!
Where in Alabama is this?
Nice variety tonight. Do they go to the roads to get warm?
@NKFherping
Жыл бұрын
Some do, particularly the vipers. But I think most are just trying to get where they need to be in preparation for the impending winter this time of year. Be it looking for food, or getting to their overwintering habitats.

@@NKFherping I generally agree with your reply - I don't see how a reptile could "go to a road to get warm", when the warmth of the road is probably not detectable by the herp (I tentatively assume) until it is essentially on the road. Correct me if you think my tentative assumption is off the mark.
@NKFherping

@@Steevee14 Your assumption about their inability to detect warmth is incorrect, snakes are not brainless. They can feel warmth and frequently seek it out, and they’re able to remember and return to areas that suit their needs. Vipers in particular have heat sensing pits, thus the name “pit vipers”. They allow them to essentially see heat via infrared radiation. This is why one can find piles of snakes sharing prime basking locations in the right weather. This behavior likely doesn’t benefit them much on roads given peoples affinity for running them over, but it’s entirely possible that at least some intentionally venture onto pavement to take advantage of the heat it retains.
Noah - is it ok to move a snake from busy area of traffic to a completely different area - or just move them in same area??
@NKFherping
Жыл бұрын
As close as possible is always preferred, but if it’s super high traffic their odds might be better in a more natural area as close as you can find one.

Why do rat snakes always seem to "kink up"
@NKFherping
Жыл бұрын
It’s behavioral camouflage, helps break up the outline of a solid black snake. Works much better in the forest than on the road.

@@NKFherping WOW! You replied! Thanks..Made my day..I love watching your videos. I had a huge black snake on my front sidewalk..It was all kinked up..I was terrified until I started watching you and now I kinda like them..still would not go near it though but I realize they are gentle. Thanks again for replying. You are awesome
Bro, go to 13:14 I swear it looks like you ram over a snake in the road
