Totally agree about the tone of the morning. All of my working life and my daughter growing up and going to school, all clothes laid out at night. Her backpack and my bag(retired teacher) were loaded and in the vehicle! Always got up earlier than needed to be able to sit and drink coffee and read a morning devotional. I so enjoy your videos. I agree with listening to music and having a quiet reflecting time on the way to work or during the very early morning. It does relax you and keep your mind more clear for whatever comes your way during the school day. There are always those unexpected surprises some small some not so small that occur. I smiled at the sign by the classroom door. PE in the orchestra room but Music is in the cafeteria. That seems backward in a way. I would think Music would be in the orchestra room. Lol I know schools just adapt to whatever is needed. Does your school not have P.E. on the playground? Wait, your elementary school has an orchestra???? 😲

I love your channel, Emma! Your family is so sweet! I just have a quick question…as a believer, and after much research, my family doesn’t celebrate Halloween. My daughter is 17 and wants to become a teacher. Would she be required to participate in Halloween (as far as classroom activities, decor, etc.) if she teaches in a public school or could she opt out? How could she work around it in her classroom? I myself taught at a Christian school for years, so we didn’t celebrate the holiday. Just curious.

I know my daughter Julia would wake up early to clean her room and take her morning shower 🚿

What time do you start school? Your schedule seems great! I start receiving kids at 7:00 and we start at 7:35.

Hi Emma! I am reading a book, Get Your Life Back, by John Eldridge. He talks about some of the things you mentioned, not filling every quiet moment with something. Just enjoying the time and connecting with Jesus. I have been trying to be better at this!
