Great song ! R.I.P. Johann "Hans" Hölzel (Falco) 🥀btw, he has sold 20 million albums and 40 million singles, which makes him the best-selling Austrian singer of all time.
This came out about the time the movie Amadeus. The movie and song is about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

This song is about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a real blast from the past 😀
Falco, so to speak, transfers Mozart's life to the present day. The movie "Amadeus" from this time shows in a somewhat exaggeratedly drastic way what the great composer was like as a person.
Fabulous - Loved this when it came out - Falco was wonderful
Falco was an Austrian music artist who's real name was Johann Holzel. As with most people who are from Austria, German is their first language and many actually find English quite challenging. But I gather that Falco tried hard to incorporate what little knowledge he had of English into some of his songs. He admitted that he had only really learned most of his English from movies, TV and music. I recommend that you listen to a couple more of his tracks. Songs to look out for are: 1) Vienna Calling 2) Jeanny 3) Out of the Dark Sadly, Falco aka Johann Holzel died in a horrific road traffic accident in the Dominican Republic in 1996. Like many Austrians I gather he was very proud of his home nation. Of course, known for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the birthplace of Hitler and the Alps.
I like this song so much!!!! 👍🏼👍🏼
What amazing vocals and what an awesome dance song. About Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart BTW one of the great classical composers.
Falco had that certain something and an ability to completely hook you in. RIP
Mozart as the first decadent pop-star. That's what it is about. Falco's biggest hit.
This song got parodied so many times. "Eat Me I'm A Danish" ... "Kick Me I'm A Dufus" ... good 'ol Dr. Demento days! Lots of German pop came out in the '80s, a kind of European awakening. Seems that slowed down since that time though. ❤
FANTASTIC SOUND! ☺️☺️☺️☺️
So love that you have done Falco! Props to you on the side range of your reactions. If nobody has told you today, You Rock!!!!!
He had another song you may like called Jeanny. It actually shows off his vocal talents more

We he hit number one in the US charts he broke down. Totally destroyed, depressed, crying. His manager asked him why he cries and Falco said "because this is the biggest thing I can achieve and I can never repeat this, but for the rest of my life I will try to repeat it" ...
Falco has also released a sad song which is called "Jeannie" ✌️😎👍 great reaction to that artist from Vienna

This song is iconic ♡
Rock Me Amadeus is the only German language song to peak at number one of the Billboard Hot 100, which it did on 29 March 1986. It topped the singles charts on both sides of the Atlantic. In the United States and the United Kingdom.
There is a remix of this called the Salieri Mix which completely transforms the song. Salieri was often considered to be Mozart's rival, but others say they had mutual respect. The remix begins with a spoken word recap of Mozart's life then seque's into Falco's song. It's pretty nifty and it is fun to hear the Salieri mix once you've heard the original. RIP Falco. ~Be Blessed

Love this! Big hit. 🎼🎶🎵🇨🇦
Full name, Wolfgang Amadeus Motzart. He's one of the most famous classical composers who ever lived.
Love love love love it
The Song is about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart! ;-) One of the first pop Superstars.
There are several versions of this song. And there was a movie about the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. (AMADEUS) there is a version that I like where there is a lady singing pardon if this sounds perverse but the lady is singing baby, baby do it to me rock me, that's the version I like. Because it's very catchy, and the part where the lady sings, adds to the song and makes it better in my opinion. If you get a chance, look for it and check it out. 😀❤👍

Hi hunni. I miss you. Have had no internet or phone signal the last three days. Miss your smiling face. ❤️💕😍
This one is special to me I was 12 or 13 when I got a boombox for my birthday. Along with the Falco cassette tape. Loved it then love it now.
God I miss the 80's!
Funnily enough, Canada has a complete different version of this song that's unique to us! I can't find the proof of it now, but I remember from back at the time that the reason for it (and the reason why he mentions "Toronto, Canada" in "Vienna Calling") is because Canada was one of only three countries in the world where his first hit, "Der Kommisar," went to number one on the charts. So, he made a special version for Canada just to basically say, "Thanks!" And we said, "You're welcome," by making this one go to number one, too!
Fantástico Falco
Cool song. Before it's time, really.
Legend! R.I.P.
Falco was Number one on Billboard Charts with this song. What a classic 80ties song.
The song is about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart a famous composer from the Classical Period in the 1700s! I loved this song (1985) from Falco because it was unique and fun! I loved to sing the along with his German/English rapping style. He was amazing and had a lot of style, he died in 1998 for injuries he gotten in auto accident. RIP Falco!💖💖
Falco real name was Johann Holzel born in Vienna, Austria. The guy sadly died in a car crash last century. But certainly, although most of his songs were in German, he always tried to improve his English and often sang choruses in English. There's about 3 more songs that he did that you may fancy a listen to. 1) Vienna Calling 2) Jeanny 3) Out of the Dark He did do a few interviews in English but as you can imagine they were quite brief.

@@neilburns8869 I'd be bursting with pride if he were from my country --he was definitely one of a kind. I saw one interview where he said he mostly learned English listening to American & British rock & roll. I really wish I'd learned German instead of French in high school & college b/c I'd love to hear his many non-subtitled interviews online. He literally helped keep me alive when I was fighting a years-long mystery illness up til about '21 when I finally found a doctor with a functional brain; listening to his music made me feel so much better whether I understood all the words or not. His death was such a tragedy, and from what I've read, it sounds as though his life wasn't exactly filled with joy. So sad that some of the greatest creative geniuses suffer like that....and he was truly one of the greatest. Best to you!
Love this song!! There's a video of clips from the movie Amadeus with this song playing, I love it
My first record
K.S.O., The video and song is about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the famous 18th century classical music composer, who, at the time was considered a "rock star" by their standards. FYI: Both Mozart and Falco are from Austria. Next on your list should be "Wiener Blut" also by Falco!
Fue una época inolvidable. Barcelona, Londres, Venecia, Milán, Ibiza, Bocadasse. Aixxxxx! Que tiempos de juventud
Great song!
My fave from the 80s!
I love this song! Der Kommisar was my favourite song until I heard Rock Me Amadeus and I surrendered to the fun lol

Iconic song in Europe middle in the 80's
Hi K.S.O., Everyone knows that this song is about the 18th century famous Austrian Opera compressor that was also a lady's man named "Motzart" as in Wolfgang AMADEUS Motzart. Please take know and also watch the 80's movie by the same name: Amadeus.
RIP Falco ♥️
His song Jenny is really moving, such a sad ending to his life as he had a great following
with the song falco was also number 1 in the usa in 1986
it always reminds of Bond James Bond meets the Renaissance then struck by lightning of the 80's and German translation!!!
I think this is his best song...followed by the song Der Komissar....a good song,a great song..classic...
Falco learned English by singing + listening to music! 😎 Next song that he released was Vienna Calling. RIP Falco.
He's rapping in German and its awesome! I can speak German.
As others here have said the song is about famous composer and child prodigy Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Falco was great, taken from us way too soon.
Falco forever
He was a fun singer
Falco died of severe injuries from a car crash while vacationing in the Dominican Republic on 6 February 1998, 13 days before his 41st birthday...
He did a great job of reflecting Mozart's life, he was a child prodigy and an asshole extraordinaire. He was a superstar before it was a thing,
Thank you 🙏. I requested that song a couple weeks ago 😊. Please check out "Keeping The Dream Alive" by Freiheit next. I would love to know what you think about that. It's the greatest ELO song Jeff Lynne never wrote 👍. One of the few German bands who had a top 20 hit in the UK.

You need to react to "Jeanny" and "out of the dark" by him! I love him sooo much. He is a Legend!🥰❤
Maybe Amadeus Mozart rings a bell. LOL
Please react to Berlin - Take my breath away (offical video)
I strongly recommend that K.S.O and her K.S.O. Reactions "family" react to or at least, listen to the Live Version of this wonderful song "Rock Me Amadeus" !!:):) The Live Concert version, featuring Falco's fellow Austrian rock stars named Opus and KGB - is readily available via a KZread search of "Rock Me Amadeus - Opus & Falco - Live: Graz Liebenau (1985)". This is a performance by the three artists noted above at the Liebenau (pronounced Lee-Ben-Ow) Music Festival, in the city of Graz (pronounced Grotz); Graz is coincidentally the hometown where Arnold Schwarzenegger was born and raised. This "Live Concert" version, of "Rock Me Amadeus", is MUCH, MUCH BETTER than the "Official" Studio recording and music video (with tuxedos and wigs); and the same is taking into account that the "Official" Studio Recording and Music Video are each already quite EXCELLENT !!!!!:):):):):)
The song is about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Motzart in today's world , Falco in motzart time
The version that most Americans know is listed as (The American Radio Edit) Mtv ran the version you watched. but what played on the radio is the (Radio Edition) it has added flair. As classic composers go a novice to the music will somehow know far more Mozart music than any other single artist. You may know five tunes composed by Mozart but only two songs each by other great composers. Lay people know classical music just not who wrote what.
Hot potatoes! Hot potatoes! Hot potatoes! Hot potatoes! Oh, oh, oh. Hot Potatoes. C'mon and Rock me I'm a Danish.
You should see the movie from the same time period. "Amadeus" - not quite accurate movie of Mozart's life and works. Funny in some places but overall a moving experience. I remember seeing it in the summer in 1985 and was taken aback.
I take you dont know Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, he was from Germany and was a famous composer between 1761-1791.
