June 20th marks one year of me being vegan! Haven't had a craving for real meat or dairy foods since.

I really do respect that you at least make an effort to make a change and question where food comes from, however "sustainable" or "ethical" meat and dairy is not real or even a possibility. PLEASE look further into how much water, energy, and land it requires to make "grass fed" "free range" foods possible. It's even more wasteful and harmful than factory farming and to put it simply "Ethical" meat is an oxymoron. You seem to have the intent to do good but I sense an ethical disconnect and fear of being too harsh and strict on yourself but I promise it doesn't have to be that way! I recommend the documentary "Earthlings" and the youtuber Lauren Toyota / Hot for food! Wish you well on your journey to eating better and living better 💕

Girl I am a culinary student and one of our "field trips" was to a meat production plant. I had eaten vegetarian for a small a amount of time before hand and going to that plant helped me decide that I at least want to eat vegetarian as often as I can. Let me just say I almost passed out hearing out the animals get slaughtered plus seeing how things happen in an even localized meat happens made me sick.

Can I just say I LOVE your videos. The way you talk about certain topics you just seem so passionate & full of knowledge. I also live in Chicago :) and I love to learn about vegan/ vegetarian lifestyles. I aspire to be like you and all these others who have adapted to a plant based diet but I find it hard to do most of the time because of course I am tempted by all these foods. Can you make a video of good vegan/vegetarian restaurants you'd recommend in Chicago or near Chicago. I always struggle to pick things when i go out to eat, or restaurants you are okay with eating dairy or even meat from because you know they source their products the right way. Another helpful video would be your favorite vegan snacks or "junk food" because god knows we all love our midnight snacks! 😄 I hope you continue to make more videos like this cause they are my fav!!

I really liked your video because I tried myself to become vegetarian and it is just not too realistic (at least for me) to try to stick to that diet. I guess if we want to help the environment and our health the best thing to do is to be critical and ethical consumers. Please keep on making videos on the topic!

Vegans are those who do it properly and for proper Ethical Reasoning... Plant based are those who follow Vegan Eating Habits (or supposedly do) but are not Vegans... For instance someone who follows Vegan eating habits properly and never eats animals, eggs. or dairy for health reasons but still goes out shopping for a new leather jacket and/or still goes hunting for sport with his buddies on the weekends...

Sustainable meat isn't really a thing tho. I'd argue ethical meat isn't either. Why not just say that you just don't want to be entirely plantbased because of the taste you like. Much more honest :) But I do agree with you that getting the meat from local farmers is ethically better than buying it from factory farming. (potentially environmentally worse tho :/) Peace, keep doing your thing, don't take this as a hostile comment

Strange Ape I agree. "Sustainable" doesn't exist'. "Ethical" or "grass fed" meat is even LESS sustainable for the planet because it takes more land and energy and it's just not realistic for that type of farming to be the norm.

Tbh I don't understand how you can be so knowledgeable about veganism and how good it is for the planet and how it's an overall positive thing yet you aren't vegan? It sounds like sometimes you're just choosing your taste buds over ethical things. You've been consistently vegan before, you can obviously do it. And being vegan before, why eat meat? Butchers, fishing, etc can't be ethical. Even if it's a family farm. They're still killed. I'm sorry but his video makes no sense to me based off of your past videos and posts about veganism.

Just curious, how do you find it ethical to support certain farmers/butchers/fishers even though at the end of the day they are also still KILLING innocent lives?

Jenna Cavanaugh if it's from an ethical farm I personally don't see a problem with eating meat. As long as the animal had an happy and fullfilling life and you don't eat too much meat. Also her motivation to stop eating meat is more for the enviroment than for the animal itself. I am not going to judge which one is better. Every change is good and has an impact on the world now matter how big it is. At least she is thinking about it and not ignoring the issue. sorry if my english isn't perfect. all love from Switzerland xx

Lorenza Wayne Killing isn't really justified by what happened prior to it. Also, [happy fulfilling life/being caged an entire lifetime] -> choose one. I agree with you that for example free range meat is better, but better doesn't equal good. And funnily enough "good meat" is worse for the environment than factory farming. Love back from Switzerland too haha.

Strange Ape This discussion is kinda endless since I'm vegetarian too lol. (props to my homemade veggie burger I ate 5 min ago which was fantastic) But I totally respect people who eat 'better meat' because it is a small step to a happier life of animals. I'm against forcing people to not eat meat because they'll do it anyways and it's their choice and if they can live with that it's their problem.

You do know that farming for a vegan/vegetarian diet destrous habitat for wildlife and kills wildlife also? Organic farming is even worse considering it can take up to 30% more land for the same output.
