    Places like Oxfam also deprive the needy as they only give a very small percentage of the profits to charity. The rest goes in their pockets.

    Here's a tip with the charity bins. Just go straight to a charity shop and hand them over the counter.

    I don't know what charity shops you've been in... but in any i've been in years ago or my aunt's been in sometimes there are real bargains to be had. For instance, my aunt found some jewellery in the charity shop, as it was a charity shop she paid something like £5 for it, ended up selling it at a boot fair to someone else for about £50. £45 profit from one item... sometimes there's a real bargain to be had, and sometimes decent profit to be made. Most items in any charity shop near me are very cheap, i've seen virtually new condition desk chairs in there for £5 (that would typically cost £40-£60 online or in stores new), been a long time since I was last in a charity shop but many memories of my local one.

    Because they should give the owner a chance to take the bins voluntarily, rather than have to go down the line of seizing them, if they have to seize them there will be a cost, as it costs money to bring out a long vehicle with a crane.

    Regarding the fake charity bins. Most of them are being placed on council land or public land of some sort. I'm sure most councils have the legal right to remove illegally dumped items, all they need to do is remove them and dispose of them by collecting them and cutting them up for sale as scrap metal. The loss of the cost of the bins will hurt the fakers more than anything else the councils can do.

  • @thefiestaguy8831

    I don't think you understand what "non-profit" means.... Non profit doesn't necessarily mean that nobody is paid, look at the likes of Cancer Research UK, that's a non-profit charity, their CEO and top scientists will sure as hell be being paid a decent amount of money for their services. Non-profit merely means the organisation in it's own right is not a for profit company, like most are, it's nothing to do with whether or not the employees are volunteers or salaried.

  • @thefiestaguy8831

    @thefiestaguy8831

    They aren't bought with profits, you can buy a vehicle with profits for the company if it's a company vehicle.... you can't buy a vehicle from the company profits and keep it in the director's name (i.e his personal vehicle and not a company asset) unless it's done as a director's loan... As I said, being a non-profit doesn't mean the high ranking employees aren't salaried, the majority in most companies are, the CEO of Cancer Research UK is probably on at least £140k, if not more. They're a non-profit organisation, it's just the way it is, it's very rare a CEO in any non-profit organisation is not being paid any salary at all.

    Re the fake clothes bins. Presumably they are located on either private land or the councils property. In either case the owner of the property should have the right to confiscate any property that has no permission to be where it is. Sell the bins for scrap. win win for the council the junk is gone and they have the added revenue from the sale of the confiscated property. Those bins aren't cheap, confiscate enough and they will stop putting them out. Now on to point 2. Those charities are selling perfectly good used clothing overseas for pennies on the pound because they are overwhelmed with the volume of donated material. The ones really cleaning up are the folks that are buying the stuff from them.

    So are these people paying full retail type prices for these fakes? Cause as some ppl in comments have said, if you find a product that you know say goes for 120.00 pounds / dollars / soul gems idk whatever your currency be across the world, and you find it for like 30.00 or less......chances are its a damn fake.

    I would be more concerned with losses to charities if they didn't waste so much money paying ridiculously high salaries to CEOs etc. I no longer give to charities since I found out how much of my contribution went on "administration" and how little went to the proposed recipients. They have a similar logo but they say planet green or something similar, but they also say for profit and this is not a charitable organization. You can probably also check the reviews, if it is a fake item the people who produce them will probably leave positive reviews so check for 3star reviews and see what the 1star ones are saying (quite often people will comment that it's a fake ). As a general rule I expect stuff off amazon that are much cheaper than the price in shops to be fake. Also if there are no reviews than its probably a bad idea to buy it
