I found a dehydrated brown soup been in a kit with the teflon sealing rings one time I pondered on how that got there for 3 days. I agree inspect all parts very closely . Have a grate day

Looks like tumbler media....but that drum looks like it has never seen a tumbler

Yup. Inspect your parts. Pretty well a standard way to build. Im pretty sure I can guess what vendor sold you this forward drum. You’re lucky the splines are half worn out already. Just buy a pump and see how really bad they can get.
